On Saturday, July 9, 2005, at the William Osler Health Centre, after a courageous struggle with polymyositis, Carol passed away in her 67th year, as her beloved husband Paul held her hand. Loving mother of Heather BIRD, Patti LEY and Judith BIRD. Devoted mother-in-law to Gord LEY and Glen GRUNWALD. Cherished grandmother of Carly, Paul, Stuart, Charlotte, Gabe, Emma and little Will. Survived by sister Mi BRICKLES, brother Ray OAKLEY and numerous nieces and nephews. Will be sorely missed by her good friend and sister-in-law Helen BELANGER. Carol was a tireless charity worker who dedicated her life to her family and had many Friends. Those Friends may call at the Andrews Community Funeral Centre, 8190 Dixie Rd. (north of Steeles), Brampton, tentatively on Tuesday, from 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2005 at 11 a.m. from the Andrews Chapel. Passed away peacefully, in her 87th year, at the Sunnybrook and Women's College Health Centre on Sunday, October 2nd, 2005. Beloved wife of the late Gavin SHANKS. Survived by her sister Gertrude (PINFOLD) of Richmond Hill. Jean was predeceased by her sisters Margaret (SHANKS,) Betty (CLUBINE,) Dawn (MORRIS,) and Anne (LEY,) and brothers Les, Dick, Russ, and Jack. She will be missed by her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Jean was the longtime owner of Shanks' Plumbing, member of The Weston Golf and Country Club and The Seniors' "Welcome Club" of North York. She will also be missed by her many Friends and associates. Friends may call on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). The loving father of Ann and her husband, Chris OGONOSKI, Heather and her husband, Paul SORENSON, Rick HENDERSON and his wife, June, David HENDERSON and his wife, Jan and Paula CAMERON. The loving grandfather of Angela and her husband, Tim MAITLAND, K.C. WILLCOCK, Laura and Paula OGONOSKI, Melanie NOLAN, Christopher SORENSON and his wife, Esther, Teena and her husband, Joseph DEMARS, Tania and her husband, Richard VANDER PLOEG, Rick HENDERSON Jr., Dolores HENDERSON, Kerrie and her husband, Jeff LEYBOURNE and Jodie RANDALL, Crystal and her husband, Aaron HIBMA, David and Darren HENDERSON, Michael and Anthony CAMERON. Harry served on Police Commissions and as a City Councilman or twenty-three years and finishing his government service as Mayor of the City of Owen Sound. Donald Charles HENDERSON a resident of Wallaceburg and R.R.#7 Dresden, passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2005 at the Chatham Kent Health Alliance "Sydenham Campus", in Wallaceburg, at the age of 50 years. He was born in Chatham and is the son of William D. HENDERSON and the late Isobel (CHAPMAN) HENDERSON. Don was a machinist by trade and loved fishing, hunting and being outdoors. Loving father of Will HENDERSON and his companion Janice LEYSTRA of Wallaceburg. Kind brother and brother-in-law of Bill and Felicia HENDERSON of Wallaceburg. Dear uncle of Colette and her husband Wael HAMDAN of Leamington and Shona HENDERSON of Wallaceburg. Also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, family and Friends. The late Donald C. HENDERSON rested at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home, 639 Elgin Street in Wallaceburg until Friday, January 28, 2005 when the funeral service was held in the chapel of the funeral home, at 2 p.m. with Reverend David HEATH, officiating. Cremation has taken place and the interment of ashes will be in Riverview Cemetery, Wallaceburg, at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Liver Foundation may be left at the funeral home. As a living memorial a tree will be planted in Nicholls Memorial Forest in memory of Donald C. HENDERSON.
