BUDDUG JOHN, Betty (née DAVIES)
Died peacefully in her ninetieth year on Friday, January 21, 2005, at her residence in the Seven Oaks Home for the Aged. Not sadness, but joy in an extraordinarily full, rich and generous life filled the hearts of all who knew her. Welsh to the end, but a grateful Canadian for fifty years, her voice and piano still ring in the hearts of us all. A professional nurse and midwife who delivered many a child in the bombing of London, she later cared for and brightened the lives of 'old people', a group to which she never belonged. In her life she was also an athlete, an artist, a mother, a homemaker and a wonderful partner to her late husband Reverend W.H. JOHN in his lifelong ministry. She is survived by daughter Beth E. LETTNER (spouse of the late George LETTNER,) son David G. JOHN (Kathryn,) grandchildren Susan (Michael McKAY,) Michelle (Craig CYR,) William, Gregory and Leslie, and her great-grandchildren Miss Isabelle and Mr. William. We shall dearly miss her among us. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at Washington United Church, 3739 Kingston Road, Scarborough, Ontario, M1J 3H4, Tel. 416 267 8265 on Friday, February 18 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a favourite charity in her memory.
