Patricia "
Jane" (a.k.a. Jane
HAMILTON)
82, passed away quietly, surrounded by her family, in Lunenburg,
Nova Scotia. Born in Australia, Jane moved to England at an early
age and during World War 2, served in the Women's Auxiliary Air
Force. She came to Canada as a war bride in 1945. Later, settling
in Ontario, she became a professional interior decorator. Changing
careers, she became a travel consultant and opened Torbay Travel
in Hamilton, Ontario. Eventually, she returned to Nova Scotia
to be closer to family. Janes's quick wit, acerbic charm and
aggressive intellect ensured that her strongly held opinions
were heard. A funny, intuitive mother, she guided her two children
with love and a gentle but firm hand. Generous, she contributed
to many charities, including animal rights and care organizations.
