(World War 2 Veteran having served with the Royal Canadian Air Force. He owned and operated Hatton Hall Catering for over 37 years and was a long time employee of R.C.A.)
Suddenly at Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound on Wednesday, December 7, 2005. Doug VERMILYEA of Owen Sound in his 88th year. Beloved husband of Helen (née McGREGOR.) Dear father of Judy and her husband Art SPEYER of Barrie, Paul VERMILYEA and his wife Nancy of Owen Sound, Jane and her husband Floyd FITZSIMMONS of Collingwood and Greg VERMILYEA and his wife Pam of Wiarton. Lovingly remembered by twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Also survived by a sister June WILEY of Stockdale, sisters-in-law Ruth CLARKE of Belleville, Doreen McGREGOR of Owen Sound and Peggy McGREGOR of Hamilton. Predeceased by two daughters Rosemary KIVELL and Elizabeth Lou VERMILYEA, a brother Bill CLARKE and a brother-in-law Doug WILEY. Friends are invited to the Tannahill Funeral Home, 376-3710 for visiting on Friday from 2: 00 to 4:00 and 7: 00 to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Knox United Church, 890 4th Avenue, East on Saturday, December 10th at 2: 00 p.m. with Reverend Ralph SCHMIDT officiating. Visiting at the church one hour prior to service time. Interment in Leith Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, the family would appreciate memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Knox United Church or the Grey Bruce Regional Health Centre Foundation. Peacefully at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital, Bracebridge on Sunday, February 20, 2005 in his 77th year. Beloved husband of Marette of Raymond. Survived by Delia of St. Catharines and granddaughter Marie HAMMOND (Chris) of Bracebridge. Brother of Margaret JACKSON, Nancy KEY, Elizabeth RIEL and the late Jean KIVELL, James and Edward O'BRIEN. Brother-in-law of Pam and Gerald FRY. Special uncle of Paul FRY (Marie) and Michael FRY (Tanya) and great uncle of Nathan and Avery FRY and the late Connor and Caleb FRY. Friends will be received at the Reynolds Funeral Home "Turner Chapel", Bracebridge on Wednesday, February 23, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral will be held on Thursday, February 24, 2005 at Utterson United Church at 1: 00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the South Muskoka Hospital Foundation. Robert Wesley of Saint Thomas on Tuesday, April 12, 2005, at the Saint Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of Wilhelmina (BUIS) (KIVIMAKI) CHAPMAN and the late Betty CHAPMAN. Loved father of Nancy and her husband Bev WILTSIE of Aylmer and Thomas R. and his wife Marguerite CHAPMAN and dear step-father of Karen and her husband Dwight MONCK of Pickle Lake and Brian KIVIMAKI of Coombs, British Columbia. Dear brother of Corinne ATKINSON (late Jack ATKINSON,) Marion and her husband Cliff REA of Saint Thomas, Leroy and his wife Anna CHAPMAN of St. Thomas and the late Dean CHAPMAN and his wife Diane CHAPMAN of Petrolia. Predeceased by 2 brothers Jack and Bill CHAPMAN. Sadly missed by a number of grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Robert was born June 10, 1922 in Saint Thomas, son of the late Roy and Pearl (SHEPHERD) CHAPMAN. He resided here all his life and was retired from Saint Thomas Psychiatric Hospital (Department of Health) in 1987. Robert served in the Navy during World War 2 and was a former member of Branch 41 of the Royal Canadian Legion and was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, Saint Thomas where funeral service will be held Saturday at 1: 00 p.m. Interment to follow in Elmdale Cemetery. Visitation Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Kidney Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

At London Health Sciences Centre - University Hospital after a long struggle from cardiac surgery on Tuesday, September 13, 2005, Dianne (DODDS) KIVINEN of Grand Bend in her 64th year. Beloved wife of Roy KIVINEN. Loving mother of Doug KIVINEN and his wife Julie of Aldergrove, British Columbia, Glenn KIVINEN and his wife Glenda of Ingersoll and Marianne KIVINEN and her husband Michael LALANDE of New Lowell, Ontario. Dear sister of Judy FUNNEL of Ingersoll, Linda SAINT of Toronto, sister-in-law Leila PELKONEN of Orangeville, Ontario and Laila ZARYSKI of Wakaw, Saskatchewan. Loving grandmother of Daniel, Drew, Ashley, Alicia and Michaela (best friend). Dianne will also be missed by her nieces and nephews and by her many loyal and caring Friends. Dianne was an active member of Port Franks Seniors Club, Grand Bend Guild and the Red Hat Society. Cremation. Passed away peacefully, on Thursday, December 8, 2005, at York Central Hospital - Long Term Care Unit, at the age of 84. Beloved wife of the late Johannes. Lovingly remembered by nieces Helmi VERDOOLD, Helgi TROTTER, Liivi PASQUINO, and Laine MacMILLIAN, and nephew Alar KORGEMAA and their families. Found rest from her illness in the arms of Jesus on January 25, 2005 at William Osler Health Centre - Brampton. Margaret (nee GRANT) was in her 66th year and the loving wife of James for 46 years. Wonderful mother to Mark (Catherine), Kevin, and Angela BROVOLD (Gregory,) all of Brampton. Her overwhelming love will always be remembered by her five grandchildren: Shannon, Brett, Thomas (T.J.), Sarah, and Monica. The family extends special thanks to all her remarkable relatives and Friends that remained devoted to Margaret throughout her illness. Your visits, phone calls, and words of encouragement gave her much joy and strength. She adored you all.
