At London Health Science Centre-Westminster Campus on Wednesday, July 26, 2005. Laurent Constant VERFAILLIE of Aylmer in his 82nd year. Beloved husband of "Mady" Madeleine (KIGGEN) VERFAILLIE. Dear father and father-in-law of Darlene and Gary CASIER of Walsingham, Marlene HOOVER and Jim TURAK of Saint Thomas, Pierre and Julie (RACZ) VERFAILLIE of R.R.#6, Aylmer. Loving grandfather to Janice and Blair DAVIDSON, Brian CASIER, Candice HOOVER, Kevin and Roze HOOVER, Justin and Michael VERFAILLIE, Natalie and Stacy RACZ. Great-grandfather of Trent and Isabel DAVIDSON, Serena HOOVER, Mairah and Riley HOOVER. Predeceased by twin greatgranddaughters Lauren and Larissa DAVIDSON. Born in Oostkamp, Belgium on November 21, 1923 son of the late Justin and Maria (DELTOMBE) VERFAILLIE. He was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church and grew tobacco for many years. Friends may call at the H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Prayers Thursday at 8: 00 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Sorrows R.C. Church on Friday, July 29, 2005 at 11: 00 a.m. Interment, Queen of Peace Cemetery. Father Gilbert SIMARD, officiating. Donations to Serenity House Hospice (P.O. Box 20172 Saint Thomas N5P 4H4) would be appreciated.

PHALEN, James Wilfred
(Member and Past President of Oshawa West Lions Club)
After a courageous battle with heart failure on Saturday, December 10th, 2005 at Lakeridge Health Corp. - Oshawa at the age of 67. Beloved husband of Jeanette PHALEN (née BOVAIR) of 46 years. Survived by his brothers John PHALEN and his wife Linda of Ottawa, Perry PHALEN and his wife Rosemarie of Bowmanville, Ted PHALEN and his wife Betty Ann of Oshawa and by his sister-in-law Kathy HAND of Newcastle. James will be sadly missed by his Friends, neighbours, many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sisters Audrey KIGHT, Judy NOBLE and by his brother Joe HAND. Donations to the Children's Wish Foundation would be appreciated and may be made at The Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King Street East, Oshawa (905-433-4711). A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Passed away peacefully at Christie Gardens, Toronto, Thursday, June 2, 2005 at the age of 84. Beloved husband of Molly/Nancy (née Drew BROOK,) for the past 57 years. Much loved father of Suzanne (KIGHTLEY,) Charles, Rodger and the late Bill (1991) and brother Donald of Fergus, Ontario. His many grandchildren and great grandchildren will sadly miss him.
A private family funeral is to be held at the Morley Bedford Funeral Home. The family's heartfelt thanks are extended to the staff of Christie Gardens who provided tremendous care and made his remaining days comfortable.
