TATHAM, Ellen Goodeve
August 1, 1938 - December 22, 2004. Suddenly at her home in Vancouver. Youngest child of the late C.O. and Anna J.J. TATHAM of Woodstock, Ontario. After primary and secondary education in Woodstock, Ellen achieved her B.A. from the University of Western Ontario in London in 1959. She had post graduate training in Toronto and Seattle and spent her professional life as a speech pathologist in Sarnia, Sydney (Australia) and Vancouver, which became her permanent and much-enjoyed home. Favorite to all, Ellen will be remembered for her generosity, humility and wonderful sense of humour. She conquered physical health problems with grace and quiet perseverance. She will always be loved by her siblings, Charlie of Powell River, British Columbia, George of Guelph, Ontario; Margaret LUMSDEN of Edmonton, Alberta; Sid of Woodstock, Ontario; and Elizabeth DAVIS of Grand Bend, Ontario; and their families, which include their four spouses, 21 children and 37 grand nieces and grand nephews. Predeceased by one nephew, Andrew in 1985 and her brother-in-law Bill LUMSDEN in 1997. Ellen will also be cherished by her numerous Friends in many places, including Richard KICE in Montana. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. In place of flowers, a contribution to the Canadian Mental Health Association (8 King St. E., Suite 810, Toronto, Ontario, M5C 1B5) would be appreciated. A memorial gathering of Ellen's family and Friends will be held at her favorite spot for casual entertaining, the Billy Bishop Legion Hall in Vancouver, Saturday, January 15, 2005.
