After primary and secondary education in Woodstock, Ellen achieved her B.A. from the University of Western Ontario in London in 1959. She had post graduate training in Toronto and Seattle and spent her professional life as a speech pathologist in Sarnia, Sydney (Australia) and Vancouver, which became her permanent and much-enjoyed home. She will always be loved by her siblings, Charlie of Powell River, British Columbia, George of Guelph, Ontario; Margaret LUMSDEN of Edmonton, Alberta; Sid of Woodstock, Ontario; and Elizabeth DAVIS of Grand Bend, Ontario; and their families, which include their four spouses, 21 children and 37 grand nieces and grand nephews. Predeceased by one nephew, Andrew in 1985 and her brother-in-law Bill LUMSDEN in 1997. Ellen will also be cherished by her numerous Friends in many places, including Richard KICE in Montana. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. In place of flowers, a contribution to the Canadian Mental Health Association (8 King St. E., Suite 810, Toronto, Ontario, M5C 1B5) would be appreciated.
