It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing
of H. Ruth
WARD peacefully on April 7, 2005 at Albright Centre,
where she had been residing the past four years. Ruth was the
beloved wife of the late Reverend George Kerr
WARD; dear mother of
Andrea and Melanie (P. Gage
JULL;) proud grandmother of Bennett,
Callaghan, Magellan, Leighton and Abilene. She will be greatly
missed by her many Friends and 7 surviving siblings. Ruth dedicated
her life to giving to others which was clearly reflected in her
chosen profession of a Registered Nurse - V.O.N. and Upjohn in
St. Catharines as a private duty nurse for terminal cancer patients.
She was a hardworking volunteer to the Cancer Society and a devoted
member in the United Church Women at First United- St. Catharines,
Trinity United - Bowmanville, Bridge Street United - Belleville
and Grantham United - St. Catharines. Ruth was a passionate public
speaker in the health and religious forums. Her many interests
included the Fine Arts, Music, Literature, Travel and Nature.
A memorial service will be held at First United Church, 95 Church
Street, St. Catharines on May 12, 2005 at 2: 00 p.m. Cremation
has taken place. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations
to either the Canadian Diabetic Association, Canadian Cancer
Society, or the Arthritis Society for Research.
