"The gates of Heaven have opened wide and gently welcome our Carolyn inside." Carolyn in her 37th year, after a courageous battle of many years entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 23rd, 2005. Beloved by all, she is the much loved daughter of Christine (Jim WINCOTT) of London and Bill COLE of Thorold. Dearly loved sister of Catherine (Chris AVERY) of London, Theresa (Dan SANKOFF) of Chatham and step-sister of Leigh (Denysia) WINCOTT of Edmonton, Andy (Kim) WINCOTT of London and Catherine (Chris) JOLDERSMAN of Hamilton. Loving granddaughter of Elsie DUFF. Dear niece of Ken DUFF (Louise) and Patrick DUFF (Diane) and cousin of Matt, Lee and Michael. A loved and very special aunt to Alayna, Lauren, Rachel, and Carter. She will be missed, not to be forgotten by many other special aunts, uncles, cousins, step-nieces and nephew and hospital workers who over the years befriended her. A special thanks to the health care staff for the care, love and compassion they have shown her during her lengthy illness. Carolyn will be resting at the Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, on Thursday from 2: 00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. George's Roman Catholic Church, 1164 Commissioners Road West, on Friday, October 28th, 2005 at 11: 00 a.m. Interment, Woodland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the London Health Sciences Centre (Victoria Campus) Critical Care Trauma Centre or Emergency Department. (Lt. Colonel, (R) Salvation Army) After a life of service for Christ, Harold went to be with his Lord on Sunday, August 7th, 2005. He was predeceased by his loving wife Violet, brothers Douglas and Eric, and sister Muriel. Loving father of Glen, and Sandi and her husband Gary DALE. Brother of Bert. Loving Grampa to Gevan and wife Shelley, Kirsti and husband Alan, and Becki, and Great-Grampa of Jadah, Rhys and Kathleen, Ella JOLIE and Jasper. Dad prayed daily for all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren naming each one in his prayers. After retirement from Salvation Army service, Dad worked tirelessly at World Vision Canada for 12 years. Former Resident Passes
Word was received last week of the passing of Mearle JOLLEY on November 9 in Owen Sound Regional Health Centre, in her 87th year. Mearle was the youngest member of the late Fred and Gertrude (FOWLER) GREER/GRIER family. Mearle was predeceased by three brothers and four sisters, George, Evans, Audrey, Newton, Mae, Bertha and Rhoda. She was also predeceased by her husband Fred JOLLEY in 1956.
Mearle was born on the Greer farm, Concession 16, Proton, Bethel district, just prior to the Greer family moving to Highway 10, two farms above the Dundalk intersection, across from where Laidlaw Bus Depot is presently located. Mearle attended Dundalk Public and High Schools.
Following graduation from High School, Mearle attended Toronto Normal School and graduated as an elementary school teacher, a vocation she followed until she retired. Mearle taught in schools in Kimberley and Owen Sound. Mearle loved to travel, play bridge and participate in the retired teachers activities. She was also a faithful member of Knox United Church, Owen Sound.
Mearle's funeral was conducted on Friday, November 11 at 2 p.m. at the Tannahill Funeral Home in Owen Sound by the Reverend Ralph SCHMIDT, minister of Knox United Church. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Owen Sound.
Those left to mourn Mearle's passing are, her sister-in-law, Mrs. Barbara GREER/GRIER, Prince George, British Columbia and a number of nieces and nephews in Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia Helen ROGERS, Royston, British Columbia and Delbert and Mervyn FOWLER, Dundalk are first cousins.
Relatives attending Mearle's funeral were Sandra SEABROOK (niece,) Lakefield, Delbert, Mervyn and Mary FOWLER, Dundalk and Ruth SCOTT, Holstein.

Cherished father of Robert "Louie" RUSSELL and his wife Carolyn (MALONEY.) Loving grandfather of James Robert RUSSELL and Baby Angel Robert Patrick (April 15th to April 18th, 2005). Robert is lovingly remembered by his mother Violet RUSSELL and is survived by his sister Susan BARBER and her husband Richard, nephew Scott and niece Sharlene and her husband Alex CLARKE. He was predeceased by his father Robert James in 1976. He will be affectionately remembered by his mother-in-law Ann (WATSON) MASTERS, Marlene's sisters and brother, their spouses, and many nieces and nephews as well as the Watson family. Friends Dr. David JOLLEY, Dr. Paul BELZYCKI, Howard ROY and in spirit Nicolas Harvey were at his side in his final hours. She was a champion bridge player who spent many wonderful hours at the game in Barrie, Florida and London. Bryan SMITH passed away peacefully with his family by his side at University Hospital in London, Ontario, on Tuesday, October 18, 2005 after a short illness. Bryan was born on April 12, 1939 in Toronto, and was the eldest son of the late Murray and Muriel SMITH of Leaside. He leaves behind his adoring wife and best friend of 43 years, Deanna (DORKIN) and his three children, Bradley and his wife Keri and their two children Ryan and Trent of London, Jeffrey and his wife Dr. Kathryn Coups SMITH, and their two children Rebecca and Pierce of London, Andrea Smith JOLLIFFE and her husband Kevin JOLLIFFE and their two children Hunter and Hayden of Stouffville. Bryan is survived by his brother Douglas Murray SMITH and family of King City, Ontario, his brothers-in-law Ken and his wife Marnie DORKIN of Salmon Arm, British Columbia, Al DORKIN of Toronto and sister-in-law Sandra HOWLAND of Stouffville. Predeceased by his brother Paul, and in-laws George (Bert) and Vera DORKIN all of Toronto. Bryan attended Leaside High School in Toronto where he met the love of his life and was the school goalie. He attended the University of Toronto where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1963 and his Diploma in Orthodontics in 1968. Bryan started his private practice in orthodontics in 1968 on Oxford St. He later moved his practice to Richmond Street where he practiced until he retired in 2002. He was adored by his patients, staff and fellow practitioners. He was honoured to have his family- Andrea, Keri, Jeff and Deanna work with him on the business side of the practice. Kathryn was his only partner and practiced with him since 1997. Bryan taught Graduate Orthodontics at the U.W.O., worked with the Thames Valley Children's Centre cleft lip and palate clinic and was involved with local dental and provincial orthodontic politics. Along with his wife, he enjoyed contributing to his community through many volunteer efforts. Bryan had a true zest for life. He loved his golf at the Hunt Club and in Florida at Quail Ridge, boating in Muskoka, skiing in Colorado, traveling, reading, painting, story-telling and talking. He will be greatly missed by numerous Friends and loved ones. Bryan was the life of the party and his personality was infectious. Friends may call on Friday from 1-3 and 7-9 p.m. at the James A. CROFT, Glenard Joseph
Glenard Joseph CROFT was born on January 15, 1921, the oldest son of Ned CROFT and Marian SAYERS. He had two brothers Ted who predeceased him, and Robert, both from Flesherton.
Glen was married to Dorothy OTTEWELL, who died in 1951, along with his baby son. He remarried in 1953 to Hazel McKILLOP who died in 1961 leaving behind a daughter Marian. In 1962 he married Eleanor NICKERSON. They parted ways in 1971 but he continued to raise his daughter Diane.
Glen served in World War 2 with the 4th Anti-Tank, 5th Division Infantry. He fought in England, North Africa, Italy, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. He kept in touch with his comrades, phoning them often and attending reunions when possible, and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #333, Flesherton.
During his life he farmed in the Ceylon area, had a garage built north of Flesherton for business purposes, hauled logs, snow plowed in the area and spent over 30 years working for Franceschini Bros. in Brampton. Due to back problems he was forced to retire. During his retirement he would pick up cars for a used car dealer and would be out visiting at the local businesses, restaurants and his other Friends.
Glen was a strong willed and determined man who fought hard with his health problems but on May 18, 2005 he lost the battle and passed away at Grey Bruce Health Services in Markdale.
The visitation was held at the Fawcett Funeral Home on May 20. The service was held at the Rock Mills Fellowship Baptist Church on May 21. Pastor Wayne HEIKKINEN offered the prayers and welcome and Reverend Don PRINCE offered the scripture reading, reflections and prayer. Murray BETTS delivered the eulogy. The pallbearers were Peter McCRACKEN, Ron LOUCKS, Wayne CROFT, Charlie LEVER, Ryan CROFT and Phil McENANEY. Flowerbearers were Brianne JOLLY, Brad JOLLY, William BEASLEY, Angel BEASLEY and Cameron BEASLEY. The lunch was served at the Prince Arthur Lodge hall by the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

Retired longtime employee of Northern Telecom and 1st member of the Brampton Chapter of the Gideon Bible Society. Called home to be with the Lord from his residence at the Brampton Meadows Long Term Care, on Tuesday, February 22nd, 2005 at the age of 83 years.
