Mr.
STACKHOUSE was the
President and General Manager from 1959 to 1996 of Queensway
Tire Service Ltd., Simcoe which expanded to Woodstock Tire Service
Ltd. in 1994, he was the owner of Classic Auto Ranch, Simcoe,
former owner of Queensway Crane Service, and former partner in
Simcoe Honda 1992 Ltd., partner in both Quick Clean Car Wash
and JET
Enterprises
Simcoe.
Tom was also the former owner of
QT Truck Rentals and Minit Lube, Simcoe. He was the developer
of Agricultural, Residential, Commercial and Industrial properties
in the Simcoe area and Insurance Appraiser of Antique and Classic
Vehicles for over 45 years. Mr.
STACKHOUSE's
Community involvement
included, former member of Simcoe Rotary, Simcoe Lions Club,
Simcoe Minor Hockey Coach, Board Member of Ontario Housing Authority,
Ontario Provincial Police Auxiliary, Simcoe and District Chamber
of Commerce serving on several committees, and Corvettes of Southern
Ontario. Tom was a member of the Ontario Tire Dealers Association,
serving on several committees, President of Haldimand-Norfolk-Brant-Ontario
Progressive Conservative Association from 1998-2002, President
of the Conservative Party of Canada Haldimand Norfolk E.D.A.
2004, Founder and Past President of Historical Automobile Society
of Canada, Long Point Chapter, Member of American Truck Historical
Society of North America, Member of Harley Owners Group, Member
of International Cockshutt Club, Ducks Unlimited, Board of Directors
of Haldimand-Norfolk-Tillsonburg Crime Stoppers, and was appointed
to the Police Services Board of Haldimand-Norfolk, June 2000
to September 2005. Mr.
STACKHOUSE was a life member of Norfolk
#10 Masonic Lodge, 33 Degree Scottish Right Member, serving on
Membership Committee for 8 years, a Life Member of the Ancient
Arabic Order of the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine; Mocha Temple,
London. Tom was the Past President 1969 and 1970 of the Norfolk
Shrine Club, a Charter Member and Past Secretary of Mocha Classics,
Charter Member, Past President and Secretary of Mocha Harleys,
Past President and Secretary of Mocha Cabiri Association, Member
of the Divan (executive) of Mocha Temple 1982-1989, Potentate
of Mocha Temple of the Shrine (London) 1990, Budget and Finance
Committee of Mocha Temple 1991-1996, Life Member of 25 other
Shrine Temples in Canada, United States including Alaska, Hawaii,
Panama and Mexico, Life Member of 9 other Clubs and Units of
the Mocha Temple of the Shrine, as well as a member of the order
of Kentucky Colonels. The family will receive Friends to share
their memories of Tom at The Baldock Funeral Home, 96 Norfolk
St. N., Simcoe on Monday (today) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday
2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Trinity Anglican
Church, 80 Colborne St. S., Simcoe on Wednesday, November 9th,
2005 at 1: 30 p.m. Reverend Gord
MOIR officiating. Cremation to
follow. A Masonic Lodge #10 Service in memory of Mr.
STACKHOUSE
