ILLIDGE, Beverley Elizabeth (née SHAY/SHEA)
Passed away early on July 22, 2005 at the St. Catharines General Hospital, after suffering congestive heart failure. Predeceased by her loving husband Jack and her sister Ellen NICHOL, Bev was the proud mother of Paul (Jill PETITE,) John (Ellen FOX,) Peter and Judith, and loving grandmother of Rebecca, Emma, Sara, Hannah, Nicholas and Carson. Always a vigorous presence in her children's 'home and school' associations, a staunch Anglican, lifelong Progressive Conservative, avid Gull Lake cottager and tireless volunteer devoted to the elderly and to 'those less fortunate than we', Bev will be remembered for the boundless energy carried forth from her Venture Club days, and for her unfailing belief in 'being active' long before it came into vogue. A memorial gathering will be held at her church, Saint Thomas' Anglican, St. Catharines, early in September. Donations may be made in her name to the Canadian Mental Health Association, Ontario Division "They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun smite them; for he that hath mercy on them shall lead them, even by the springs of water shall he
guide them." Isaiah 49.
