Billie▼ was born in Toronto, Ontario into the
BOLTON family. Educated
at Victoria College at the University of Toronto, she graduated
in Social Work and devoted her life to caring for the interests
of others. With a keen voice, she taught singing as her first
job. To the embarrassment of her children, Annabelle and Norman,
she seemed to have the loudest voice in church! Half a century
later, at age seventy-five, she started her second job in a retail
store in Muskoka. Forty-seven years of her life were spent with
her beloved husband, Fred, living in Oakville, Toronto and Gravenhurst.
She offered unending support to his career of forty-four years
at The Toronto Star with many a dinner conversation focusing
on the business of the day. Although he predeceased her in May
of 1983, she never stopped loving him. Billie was often referred
to by others as a 'wonderful lady'. She lived an independent
and dignified life, always giving of herself to those around
her. Over the years she delighted in bringing people together
for purposeful discussion and fun. She brightened the day for
Friends and relatives when times were tough. Even those who met
her only once were struck by her charm, spirit, lively ideas
and her love of life. For her five grandchildren, Jennifer and
Katherine EAST and Brett, Kai and Tyler
