Condolences may be made at www.hoglefuneralhomes.com "Death is nothing at all. I have only slipped away into the next room. I am I and you are you. Whatever we were to each other, that we still are. Call me by my old familiar name; speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Put no difference in your tone; wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together. Pray, smile, think of me, pray for me. Let my name ever be the household word that it always was, let it be spoken without effect, without the trace of a shadow on it. Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was; there is unbroken continuity. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? I am waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere near, just around the corner. All is well." Canon Holland - St. Paul's Cathedral, 1918

HOTSON, Billie " Isabel" (March 18, 1909-November 29, 2005)
Billie was born in Toronto, Ontario into the BOLTON family. Educated at Victoria College at the University of Toronto, she graduated in Social Work and devoted her life to caring for the interests of others. With a keen voice, she taught singing as her first job. To the embarrassment of her children, Annabelle and Norman, she seemed to have the loudest voice in church! Half a century later, at age seventy-five, she started her second job in a retail store in Muskoka. Forty-seven years of her life were spent with her beloved husband, Fred, living in Oakville, Toronto and Gravenhurst. She offered unending support to his career of forty-four years at The Toronto Star with many a dinner conversation focusing on the business of the day. Although he predeceased her in May of 1983, she never stopped loving him. Billie was often referred to by others as a 'wonderful lady'. She lived an independent and dignified life, always giving of herself to those around her. Over the years she delighted in bringing people together for purposeful discussion and fun. She brightened the day for Friends and relatives when times were tough. Even those who met her only once were struck by her charm, spirit, lively ideas and her love of life. For her five grandchildren, Jennifer and Katherine EAST and Brett, Kai and Tyler HOTSON, Gram was a very special person with a probing interest in their studies, travels, Friends and career paths. We have all been touched by her life, her love and her compassion. May we live by her example. A Service of Celebration will be held at Trinity United Church, Muskoka Road North, Gravenhurst, Ontario at 11: 00 a.m., Saturday, December 10th, 2005. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Sunnybrook Hospital or a charity of your choice.
