Born in Leiden, Holland on May 12, 1943, Joanne moved to the

was educated at Colorado State College (B.A., 1964), the Sorbonne
in Paris (1967) and the University of Rochester (M.A., 1971),
and lived in France from 1964-1967, working as an au-pair. She
had lived in several different states before she moved to Canada
in 1971 and accepted a position teaching French at York University,
where she met her husband Walter. Joanne received a Ph.D. in
linguistics from Laval University in 1983 and taught French linguistics
at York University from 1987-1994. After Walter's death, Joanne
left teaching to pursue her passion, exploring studies in new-age
mysticism and philosophy. In 1997, she started her own publishing

she completed her life's work, The Gospel According to Mary Magdalene:
A Trilogy, shortly before she died.
She was a deeply spiritual person with a great love of animals

Whatever we were to each other, that we still are. Call me by

used. Put no difference in your tone; wear no forced air of solemnity

be spoken without effect, without the trace of a shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever

because I am out of sight? I am waiting for you, for an interval,

HABLJAK,
Rudolf "
Rudy"
(June 13, 1950-September 13, 2005)
Passed away with his children by his side. Cherished and devoted
father of Nick and Julia; beloved
son of Olga
HABLJAK-
HRGOVIC
and the late Marijan
HRGOVIC.
Rudy will also be deeply missed
by Mathew EMANUELE who was like a second son; and
by Sue HABLJAK
whom he has known for almost thirty-five years. His Friends and
staff at Habtech Communications; his Thursday night snooker buddies
and dear friend Grace
DUPONTE have all lost someone very special.
Rudy also leaves to mourn his beloved uncle Vido and aunt Mileca,
cousins Mladen, Dubrovka, Petra and Matea, all of Croatia. Rudy
was an inspiration to all of us and lived by example. He was
honest, sincere and gave unselfishly of his time and possessions.
His home was a sanctuary to Julia's Friends and he always made
everyone feel welcome. Not only was he proud of his children,
he was proud of his many 'girls' whom he considered like second
daughters: Victoria, Jenn, Olinda are to name but a few. They
brought a joy to his life that surprised even him. Everyone who
knew Rudy will miss his wisdom and loving guidance. The family
will receive Friends at Glen Oaks Visitation and Reception Centre
(3164 Ninth Line at Dundas, Oakville, 905-257-8822) on Friday,
September 16, 2005 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass at
St. Joseph Parish (5440 Durie Road, Mississauga, 905-826-2766)

can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. "When you need to
talk, look up and I'll be looking down" - Rudy
