Gladys Emily. Herbert was a veteran of World War 2 in the Canadian
Army. He saw service in the middle east with the United Nations
Peace Keeping Force. Herbert retired from the military as a Staff
Sergeant after 28 years of service. Friends will be received
at Andrews Community Funeral Centre, 8190 Dixie Road (north of
Steeles Ave.) 905-456-8190 on Thursday, December 1st from 1: 00
p.m. until time of Memorial Service in the chapel at 2: 00 p.m.

Lillian was a pioneer in bringing her scientific baking methods
to young women. Throughout the 1950s, she conducted baking classes
in her living room and later opened the first established cooking
school in Toronto. Although a woman of many accomplishments --
a businesswoman, an early feminist and the oldest living survivor
of breast cancer in Toronto -- her proudest achievement was her
family. Lillian leaves a living legacy in her grandchildren,
great-grandchildren and her series of cookbooks, the last of
which was published in her late eighties. Funeral from Benjamin's
