Passed away peacefully at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie,
Ontario on Friday August 25, 2005 at the age of 78 years. Joan
will be sadly missed by her husband and best friend Fred of Midhurst,
her children Kathleen and her husband Doug
SMYTH of Brampton,
Robert and his wife JoAnne of London, Nancy and her husband Greg
BURTON of Appleton, Wisconsin, and Mary
CAMPLING of Vancouver,
British Columbia. Grandma will also be fondly remembered by her
seven grandchildren - Laura, Eric, Bryan, Michael, Michelle,
Jeremiah and Joshua. Joan was a graduate of Queen's University
(B.A. '49) Joan, Fred and family lived in Kapuskasing, Ontario
for 39 wonderful years. In 1990, they moved to Midhurst, Ontario
and Joan become an active member of Saint Mary's Church, the Barrie
Country Club and a volunteer for the Meals on Wheels and Out
of the Cold programs. Friends may call at the Steckley-Gooderham
Funeral Home, (Clapperton and Worsley Streets) Barrie, on Monday
2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held from Saint Mary's Church,
Barrie on Tuesday Morning August 30th, 2005 at 10: 00 a.m. Interment
Saint Mary's Cemetery, Barrie. As an expression of sympathy, donations
to the Royal Victoria Hospital Foundation or the Heart and Stroke
Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

Wychwood Towers and Mt. Sinai Hospital for their care of Nieko
