Diane will
forever be remembered for her special ability to listen, tell
a great story and most of all, truly be a great friend. Diane
was blessed with many Friends and was touched by their love,
generosity and encouragement during her courageous battle with
cancer and throughout her life. She will be greatly missed by
all. Diane's family will receive relatives and Friends from 2-4
and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at the Henry Walser Funeral
Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener (519-749-8467). Prayers 8: 30
p.m. Wednesday evening. Prayers will be offered at 9: 30 a.m.
Thursday, July 14, 2005 in the funeral home chapel followed by
a procession to St. Anthony Daniel Church (29 Midland Dr., Kitchener)
for Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Cremation to follow. A special thank
you from Diane and all of the family to all of the amazing staff
at the Grand River Hospital Oncology Department and the Freeport
Palliative Care Section. You were her guardian angels. As expressions

World War II Air Force Veteran
The family announces with sadness the passing of Gordon on December
16th, 2005 at the Welland County Hospital, in his 86th year.
Gordon was the loving husband of Gertrude
(FUCHS) for 63 years.
Gordon was born on March 21, 1920 to parents Glover and Ella
(McCALLUM)
BOYD in Toronto, Ontario. He will be greatly missed
by his son Steven (Jun) of Mississauga and daughter Linda
QUIBELL
(Brian) of Deep River. He was a beloved grandfather of Andrew
(Amanda) and Geoffrey
QUIBELL and a loving great-grandfather
of Bruce, Story, Jack and Niyah
QUIBELL.

During his service with
the Royal Air Force from 1937 to 1945, Gordon was stationed at
aerodromes in Britain, on the aircraft carrier Illustrious of
the Royal Navy's Fleet Air Arm, in air force squadrons in the
North African desert war and later with Coastal Command in Britain.
Gordon later transferred to the Royal Canadian Air Force. Gordon
was employed for 34 years by Union Carbide in Lindsay and Welland.
In 1978 Gordon represented Union Carbide at a ceremonial Investiture
conducted by Her Honour the Lieutenant Governor, Pauline McGibbon,
to receive the Priory Vote of Thanks for valuable assistance
rendered in the furtherance of the work of the Saint John Ambulance.
He was an ardent golfer, boater and a past Master of the Masonic
Lodge. During retirement he researched family genealogy with
his brother Norman in Canada, U.S.A., Ireland and Scotland. In
his 60's, he undertook an extensive walk across Newfoundland,
Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Quebec and Ontario. Gordon and Trudy
enjoyed travelling to many countries with Friends and relatives
in far-off locations. A private family service was held in the
Chapel at the H.L. Cudney Funeral Home, Welland. Gordon was cremated
and his ashes interred at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens, Thorold,
Ontario. If so desired, expressions of sympathy in Gordon's name
to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of your choice
would be appreciated.

December 13, 2005 in his 88th year. He will be greatly missed

Sabrina (Mikel), Shawna (Tony), Remo, Kristina, Adrian, and Adam.
Visitation will be at Bernardo Funeral Home, 2960 Dufferin Street
(two streets south of Lawrence Ave.) on Thursday, December 15
from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated
at St. Charles Borromeo Church (southwest corner of Dufferin
St. and Lawrence Ave.) on Friday, December 16 at 9: 30 a.m. Entombment
to follow at Westminster Cemetery (5830 Bathurst St. north of
Finch
Ave.)
