FOUNTAIN, John
In loving memory of my dear Dad, John FOUNTAIN who passed away one year ago today.
If Daisies grow in Heaven, Lord
Please pick a bunch for me,
Place them in my father's arms,
And tell him they're from me.
Tell him that I love him,
And when he turns to smile,
Place a kiss upon his cheek,
And hold him for a while,
Remembering him is easy,
I do it every day,
But there's an ache within my heart,
That will never go away.
Love you and miss you, Sandy and family.

Born May 11th, 1930, she peacefully passed after a very rapid bout with cancer on November 10th, 2005. Although sadly missed, we are grateful for the fact that she raised four wonderful children. She is predeceased by our dad Morley, her true love, who passed away on April 14th, 1987 and her parents Ed and Bertha CORRIVEAU. She is survived by sisters Yvonne JEFFERY (and husband Pete, who was like a brother) of St. Joseph and Marie WILD of Exeter. Georgina has four children and lots of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Rob FOURNIE and his children James FOURNIE of Montreal and Chelsey FOURNIE; Joe FOURNIE (Nancy) and their children: Meghan FOURNIE, Mike KIRKPATRICK (Rose) of Kitchener, Melody PLISHKA (Art) and their children Alex and Nick of Winnipeg, Miranda HODGSON (Tom) and their children Eric and Emma of Winnipeg, Brad FOURNIE (Amy) and their children Haley and Alyssa; Geoff FOURNIE (Tracy BRENNAN) and their children Sydney and Patrick; Darlene McKENNEY (Rick) and their children Cody and Tyler. Georgina always took great delight in having her family around her. Mom always laughed to the point of tears when we'd get together. "I have four crazy kids" she always said and marvelled at the next generation coming up. Throughout this tough period, her family was at her side as she was for us throughout our lives. She was and will continue to be an inspiration and model for all of us. Thank you Mom, we love you! To her many Friends who shared her life through the Catholic church, playing cards, dancing, travelling and of course the Legion (Victory Branch), we thank you. Although a short stay at University Hospital, we appreciate the support from the nursing team. Also a special thanks to the two outstanding professionals: Dr. Matt FELTHAM who showed compassion in our family's time of need and to Dr. Valerie SCHULTZ of the Palliative Care Pain Team who ensured mom's comfort. We would like to also express our appreciation for the thoughtfulness of Father Leslie and her childhood friend Sister Bernadette. Your prayers meant the world to her. Visitation will be held at the Lloyd R. Needham Funeral Chapel on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with prayers to be held at 3 p.m. and a Legion service to be held at 7 p.m. under the auspices of the Victory branch. HARRIS, Standish Alan (1901-2005)
On August 14th, 2005 Alan passed away peacefully at his country home in Caledon, in his 105th year. Adoring husband of the late Naomi Francis (PICK) and stepfather to her son the late Robert Sholto DOUGLAS/DOUGLASS. Loving 'Pappy' to Margot CURRY and family and Michael DOUGLAS/DOUGLASS and family. Uncle Alan to Alan HODGINS, Mel HODGINS, Betty McWHINNIE, Jim HARRIS, Aldine BEAUMONT and their families. After leaving his home in Kilmallock, County Limerick and graduating from Trinity College in Dublin Alan made his way to Toronto. He had a brief job with the T. Eaton Co. and then landed the job he wanted, to teach. He became a teacher at Upper Canada College and was there from 1925-1965. Alan was a most admired and respected teacher. He loved the challenge of teaching Mathematics and was at his best when dealing with those who found the subject difficult. He was the head of the Mathematics Department for 30 years. Upper Canada College's property in Norval was a great love of Alan's and he personally supervised and assisted with the planting of thousands of trees there, results of his efforts are remembered as the 'Harris Arboretum'. After his wife's death Alan moved to his property in Caledon with his dog Rheba. He maintained a first-rate vegetable garden and wonderful flowerbeds. He also spent many years reforesting this property. He fed countless birds each winter and took great joy in his last years observing them with his binoculars on the bird feeder outside his living room. Much to the delight of many visitors Alan had the chickadees feeding from their hands. Alan had wonderful loving care over the last few years from Margot and Shane CURRY, Wendy DARROW, Thierry FOURNIER, Nancy WENGLEWICK, Evelyn BUNKER, Nancy SINCLAIR and Diane McKENZIE and her Victorian Order of Nurses team.
