WALKER, Irene Isobel (née SOUTHERN)
Passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 20, 2005. Beloved wife of the late Charles Reid McFarlane WALKER, dearest mother of Cameron and Ruth (RIDOUT,) and Gordon and Thérèse SAURIOL, and cherished grandmother to Alexis, Charles, Bronwyn and Piers. Predeceased by her loving parents, Richard and Elizabeth SOUTHERN, and her dear sisters Ora (FIDDES) and Doreen (CROTHERS.) As the daughter of Dick SOUTHERN of Wexford County, Ireland, Irene was the last Southern of her generation. Dear friend and aunt to Marilyn JONES and extended family; special friend to Alberta THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON. A long-time Scarborough resident, she will be missed by Friends at the bridge table, and by those who enjoyed her wonderful gifts from the kitchen, her honest and direct counsel, and her uncompromising spirit. Irene had a fine sense of humour, a life-long passion for music, and was always the most elegant girl on the dance floor. Family and Friends will be received at the Ogden Funeral Home, 4164 Sheppard Ave. E. Dear mother of Garth and Donna VOLLANS of Pain Court, Teryl and Gary UNSWORTH of Alvinston and Darla and Todd FIDDICK of Petrolia. Cherished grandmother of Kirk and Kent VOLLANS, Braedon, Kaeli and Marshall UNSWORTH and Corrine and Mitch FIDDICK. Dear sister of Al and Kaye MOLSON of Brigden and Rob and Joan MOLSON of Sarnia. Also survived by her step-mother, Marie MOLSON of Sarnia and sister-in-law, Marilyn and Murray GARDINER of Merlin. Elaine was the activity director at Fiddick's Nursing Home, Petrolia for over 27 years. Visitors will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Needham-Jay Funeral Home, Petrolia, where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2005 at 1: 00 p.m. Cremation to follow. Peacefully on January 3rd, 2005 at Southampton Care Centre in his 86th year. Predeceased by his loving wife Ruth (1994) and his brothers Andrew and William. Beloved and devoted father of Judith HOLTZHAUER (Helge TAPANILA), John (Isabell), David (Karen), Kathy HUNTER, Nancy FIDDLER (Wayne) and Paul (Sharon,) thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Survived by his brother Joseph, his sister Emma SHORTILL, sisters-in-law Elinor KOVATS and Rita KOVATS, brothers-in-law Doug KUNKEL and Don KUNKEL. Special friend to Julia SAKATCH. Cremation has taken place. Memorial mass at St. Clements R.C. Church, 745 Duke Street, Cambridge, Thursday, January 6th, 2005 at 6: 00 p.m. Visitation at the Church before the mass from 4: 00 to 5:30 p.m. Reception following the mass. Survived by 2 sisters, Alice SHAW and Violet FIDDLER, and 6 brothers, Donald, Ken, Harvey, Ray, Lloyd and Richard. Also survived by the Ayres family, George, Ernie, Edward, Agnes, John and Lloyd and the late Mildred LOCK, as well as several nieces and nephews and their families. Predeceased by 9 brothers, Russell, Abe, Frank, Bob, Tyrone, Sam, Leonard, Vincent and Terence and 2 sisters, Nora Boughner and Mary Webber. Jackie was predeceased by the love of her life, her beloved husband Larry (Wilfred Lawrence) FIDLER, and their infant daughter Denise Marie. She is survived by her dearest friend Natalina CATALAO, her brother Bill McDONALD, and sisters Lillian SMALL of Victoria, Iris SHIELDS and Aileen JOHNSON, as well as many nieces, nephews and life-long Friends.
