has taken place. Friends will be received by the family on Wednesday
from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland
Road North, where a memorial service will be conducted in the
chapel on Thursday, October 13, 2005 at 1 p.m., with the Reverend
Fred MacKINNON officiating. Private interment of cremated remains
at a later date. Sandra's family wish to send a sincere thank
you for the professional care and support offered by the staff,
nurses and doctors of the London Health Sciences Centre and Community
Care Access Centre of London. Those wishing to make a donation
in memory of Sandra are asked to consider the Canadian Breast
Cancer Foundation (www.cbcf.org) or the London Health Sciences

Southgate man dies in barn collapse
Emergency workers were called to a farm on Highway 6 just north
of Mount Forest when a barn floor collapsed. Despite frantic
efforts they were unable to save a man who was trapped under
the debris.
The incident occurred on Monday, May 9 at approximately 6: 15
pm. A large area of floor in the interior of a barn had caved
in just north of Mount Forest on the east side of Highway 6 near
the junction of Grey Road 6.
Ambulance paramedics and the Mount~Forest Fire Department were
on the scene within minutes of the collapse and worked frantically
to free a man who was trapped under the floor and material such
as corn, hay and beans that had been stored above. The man was
located and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation was administered at
the scene as an air ambulance stood by. However, be did not respond
and just after 7 p.m., a field death pronouncement was made.
One cattle beast also perished in the collapse.
The victim of the collapse has been identified as Craig
EURIG,
32, of Southgate. A post mortem examination is scheduled to take
place at Grey Bruce Health Services-Owen Sound. Grey County Ontario
Provincial Police has notified the Ontario Farm Safety Board.
