MILES passed away May 6, 2005, in Grand River
Hospital, Kitchener, surrounded by his family. Ralph, born July
4, 1918, in North Sydney, Nova Scotia, graduated from Saint John
High School and Mount Allison University, New Brunswick. After
serving as a Commanding Officer in radar with the Royal Air Force,
Ralph distinguised himself as a research chemist with the Canada
Department of Agriculture. As a Radio Amateur (VE3
CMQ,) Ralph
helped many people become Ham operators, especially the visually
impaired. Ralph is survived and dearly missed by his beloved
wife of 63 years, Madeline, now residing at Riverside Glen Retirement
Home, Guelph.
Ralph's memory is cherished by his sons Grant (Barbara), Bruce
(Evelyne), Keith (Nancy), Neil (Elizabeth), Murray, and daughter
Sheila ANDERSEN
(Niels
EJVIND) and by his brother Vernon
MILES
(Janet) and by his 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Friends are welcome to the visitation, Lloyd R. Needham Funeral
Chapel, 520 Dundas Street, on Wednesday May 11, from 2-4 and
7-9 p.m., where a service will be conducted on Thurs. May 12,
2005 at 2 p.m. Friends are warmly invited to a special memorial
service at Saint Martin-in-the-Fields Church, 489 Pinetree Drive
on May 22, 2005 at 4 p.m.
