EFSTRATIADIS,
Peacefully on March 28th, 2005, Sunnybrook Hospital, at the age
of 66. Beloved husband of Maxi, devoted father adored by daughter
Olga and son-in-law André. Proud grandfather to Baby Caroline.
Dear brother to Mary, Costas and Stratis. Loving uncle and brother-in-law.
George was born in Alexandria, Egypt of Greek descent. Lived
in Germany, where he met his life long partner and consciously
made Toronto his home of choice. Ryerson Business Administration
Graduate of 1980. George always modelled his love of learning.
Fluent in 7 languages, George worked passionately assisting newcomers
to settle in Toronto as Counsellor and later as Co-ordinator
of the Ontario Welcome House. As a hobby, George loved teaching
the Greek language and sharing his fervour for Hellenism with
his students at Seneca College, and teaching and volunteering
tirelessly with the Greek Community of Toronto. In retirement,
George became a freelance interpreter and regularly enjoyed playing
volleyball with his buddies, travelling and sharing in fun times
with his dear Friends and family. George will always be remembered
for his courage, his positive outlook, his wisdom, his patience,
his sense of humour and his deep love for his family and Friends.
George continued to smile and think of others during his brave
2 year battle with pancreatic cancer. Friends will be received
at The Simple Alternative Funeral Home, 275 Lesmill Road, on
Friday, April 1st, 2-4 p.m., 6-9 p.m. Funeral service to be held
on Saturday, April 2nd at 10 a.m. at Saint John's Greek Orthodox
Church, 1385 Warden Ave. Interment Pine Hill Cemetery. In lieu
of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in George's
memory to the Sunnybrook Regional Cancer Centre.'You will always
