In London, on Monday, February 14, 2005. Dean EDGAR, 38 years, of London and formerly of Petrolia. DAWSON, Lloyd
Lloyd formerly of Guelph and Wingham, died peacefully at Parkwood Hospital, Western Counties Veterans Wing, on March 31st, 2005 with his family at his side. Beloved husband of Ruth, loving father of Lloyd and his wife Lori of London, and loving Grampy to Ryan and Emma. Predeceased by parents, John Edward and Ethel DAWSON, and by sister Ethel EDGAR. Survived by his sister Grace FORD of Toronto, his brother, Neil DAWSON (Ann) of Kingston, as well as by his nieces, Ann, Gwen and Sandra. Lloyd will be fondly remembered by his extended family members and Friends.
Lloyd served overseas during World War 2 with artillery regiments in Belgium, France, Holland, and Germany. Visitation will be held at the Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, on Friday from 7: 00-9:00 p.m. as well as one hour prior to the funeral and committal services being held in the chapel on Saturday, April 2, 2005 at 4: 30 p.m. Cremation and private inurnment will take place at Woodland Cemetery, at a later date. A very special thank-you to the wonderful and supportive staff at 5B South and 2 Perth. We would also like to thank Dr. Michael BORRIE for the special attention and compassionate care given to Lloyd and the support given to Lloyd's family. Peacefully, at his residence, on Friday July 1, 2005 David Simcoe JACKSON, age 82 of Wyoming. Dave was born January 19, 1923, the youngest son of Ernest and Sadie JACKSON. He was a member of London Road West United Church, Huron Masonic Lodge #392 and Lambton Shrine Club. Dave lived and farmed all his life on the family farm in Sarnia Township where he was born. He retired to Wyoming (1994) where he enjoyed his last years. Beloved husband of Helen (BLUNT) and the late Agnes (FLECK) (1987.) Dear father of Ellen COCKSHUTT (Larry) and Elaine WALKER (Luke) and the late Barbara WHITFIELD (1991) (James.) Also lovingly remembered by Helen's children Shari and Bob EDGAR and Lori and Mark HALL. Teenager killed in Hwy. 400 crash

A teen driver was killed and two of his three passengers seriously injured in a car crash Thursday morning on the southbound ramp of the Highway 400 extension, just north of Barrie.
Scott BRETT, 18, of Uxbridge died at the scene. Nicolas CORBETT, 20, Andrew WARD and Kyle TURNER, both 18 -- also all from Uxbridge were taken to Barrie's Royal Victoria Hospital by ambulance.
CORBETT and WARD were later airlifted to Sunnybrook and Women's College Health Sciences Centre in Toronto with serious injuries. CORBETT is now listed in good condition, WARD in fair condition. TURNER is listed in fair condition at Royal Victoria Hospital.
After seeing a blue 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier down the right-hand side embankment along the tree line at the scene, a tractor-trailer driver called 911 Emergency at about 4: 11 a.m.
“They obviously lost control on the ramp,” said Const. Tom EDGAR of Barrie Ontario Provincial Police, who also said there is no indication that alcohol was a factor.
Ontario Provincial Police say the Cavalier crashed through the guardrail -- taking out four of its posts but not the metal cables went down an embankment and slid into a stand of trees.
One was broken off and only a stump remained, while some smaller trees were splintered or sheared off by the vehicle.
Police say three of the four, and possibly all of the car's occupants, were not wearing seat-belts.
“They (the ones not wearing seat-belts) were ejected before the car hit the trees. All of the occupants were (found) on this side of the road,” said Const. EDGAR, gesturing toward the crash site. “One was on the bank, the other two between here and the bush.&rdquo
Markings made by investigators at the scene indicate the Cavalier was in the ramp's left-hand lane, crossed over to the right and then went through the guardrail.
The car is a write-off. Its front window peeled back, its roof and sides crushed. Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to remove one of the doors.
Highway 400's southbound extension was closed for the Ontario Provincial Police investigation at 4: 30 a.m. and re-opened at 11: 30 a.m. Motorists were rerouted to Forbes Road and onto Highway Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the crash to call Ontario Provincial Police at 726-6484 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
Mounting Death Toll
• George LABBE, 67, of Huntsville died the morning of August 9 after his Jeep Cherokee collided with a Pontiac Grand Prix driven by April SOBISCH, 31, of Alliston. LABBE was travelling south in the northbound lanes of Highway 400 in Barrie. SOBISCH is recovering in a Toronto hospital. Her infant son, Owen, wasn't injured. Ontario Provincial Police are investigating.
• Melissa GOMEZ, 21, of Toronto died last Friday evening in hospital after the GMC Envoy she was a passenger in rolled as it entered the southbound lanes of Highway 400, just south of Highway 89, and was struck by another vehicle.
Ontario Provincial Police say none of the Envoy's four occupants, including GOMEZ, were wearing seat-belts.

Peacefully at the Northumberland Hills Hospital on Monday, April 4th, 2005, Herb MIDDLETON , at 81 years of age. Herb was born in Lindsay, Ontario on July 25, 1923 to Wilfred and Audress MIDDLETON . Schooled at the Belleville B.C.I. and Albert College, Herbert joined the Royal Canadian Air Force at 17. He went to England with the Royal Canadian Air Force and then was attached to the Royal Air Force and sent to India for operations in Burma. He was discharged as a Flying Officer with the 1939-45 Star, Burma Star, Defense Medal, Volunteer Service Medal and the War Medal 1939-45. After the war, he located in Toronto and worked as a Real Estate Broker. In later years he settled in Cobourg. He was a member of the Cobourg and Callander Legions, Royal Canadian Air Force Association and the Burma Bombers. Herbert will be missed by his sister Margaret and his special friend of 20 years, Leota EDGAR. Also missed by his three sons Stephen, David, and Peter. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, April 14th at 11 a.m. at the MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King Street East, Cobourg. Lyle LUDWIG of Paris and formerly of Toronto; served during the Second World War as a Gunner in 'B' Troop, 5th Battery, 5th Field Regiment, Life Member of Toronto Swansea Legion, Branch 46 where he served as Treasurer for 20 years. Husband of the late Marjorie EDGE (1996;) dear father of Gwen, Gary, Brenda and her husband Brian, and the late Lynda; grandfather of seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Peacefully on Tuesday, September 20, 2005 surrounded by his loving family at home after a challenging battle with cancer at the age of 82. Ron was the cherished husband, partner and closest friend of Wilma (née VAN CAMP) for 53 years. Much-loved father of Mary EDGEWORTH (partner Leslie) and Nancy WEBB (husband Ron) and his predeceased son Charles. Proud "[Poppa" of Matthew, David, Michael, Christine, Scott, and dearly loved "Grandpa" of Simon. Dear brother of Arthur, and brother-in-law of M.M. VAN CAMP and Jessie GUNTER. In mourning, we also celebrate that his life was so exceptionally well lived.
son of the late Charles Fredrick and Minnie Beatrice PEARSON) DRINKWATER, and predeceased by his siblings Blake, Beatrice, Bill and Alfred.
After serving Canada as a pilot in World War 2, Ron graduated from University of Toronto in 1951. He continued to fulfill his lifelong love of aviation first as a pilot with Spartan Air Services and later as a professional aeronautical engineer with Department of National Defence.
His family, Friends and community all benefited greatly from the love and care he quietly and generously bestowed.
A service followed by a reception to celebrate Ron's life, will be held on September 30 - 2: 00 p.m. at Carleton Memorial United Church - 740 Melfa Crescent.
On his behalf, as well as our own, our family thanks the many doctors and nurses who cared for him during his illness (with special thanks to Dr. Louise COULOMBE.)
