Whatever we were to each other, that we still are. Call me by
my old familiar name; speak to me in the easy way which you always
used. Put no difference in your tone; wear no forced air of solemnity
or sorrow. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we
enjoyed together. Pray, smile, think of me, pray for me. Let
my name ever be the household word that it always was, let it
be spoken without effect, without the trace of a shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever
was; there is unbroken continuity. Why should I be out of mind
because I am out of sight? I am waiting for you, for an interval,
somewhere near, just around the corner. All is well." Canon Holland

I Remember -- Vaughn
WHELAN
By Lynne DOSSETT,
Wednesday,
March 16, 2005 Page S7
Lynne DOSSETT of Vancouver writes about advertising executive
Vaughn WHELAN, whose obituary appeared on March 11.
I knew Vaughn briefly in Halifax in the late 1980s, but I never
forgot him. He was arrogant and obnoxious and brilliant and creative.
I had no idea that he was only in his 20s at the time, he was
such a force to be reckoned with. You either loved him or hated
him; I was just fascinated. The world could use more people like
Vaughn, who push the boundaries, who aren't afraid to take chances,
and who believe in themselves.
