DOIRON, Beatrice Alda (June 16, 1920-February 25, 2005)
Born and raised in rural Prince Edward Island, Beatrice was the eldest of ten. She made off to the mainland to forge a life for herself, returning frequently for visits. Bea was an avid gardener. Even though she lived in an apartment, her balcony was a wonder of blooms every season. She frequented many flower shows and gardens, taking a host of pictures. In addition to photos, Bea also took up painting and became an accomplished artist, specializing in her beautiful blossoms. Much of her adult life she was "Nanny" to children she adored. Beatrice was always active and involved. From the social events, tours, and tea parties she organized, to her many card-playing circles, Bea was always at the centre of things. Beatrice's love of family, music, crafts and nature and her enduring curiosity gave us a wonderful journey with a beautiful woman. Bea passed away on February 25, leaving behind sisters Margaret, Hazel, Louise and brothers Alison and Joseph. Predeceased by siblings Mary, Jenny, George and Edward. She will be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews. Beatrice will be interred in the family plot on her beloved P.E.I.
