Peacefully at the Davis Centre, Bolton on Sunday, May 22, 2005, Mary SANT, R.R.#1, Kleinburg (Nashville,) in her 99th year, beloved wife of the late Angelo SANT. Dear mother of John, George, Jean DIVATO, Albert, Frank, Charles and predeceased by Joseph and Edward. Loving Nunna of 31 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-granddaughters. Dear sister of Samuel SAMMIT and predeceased by Carrie, Madeline, Joseph, Emanuel, George and Teresa. The family will receive their Friends at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S. (Hwy. 50), Bolton (905-857-2213) Sunday afternoon 2-4 and evening 7-9 o'clock. Leslie, peacefully at home on January 20th, 2005. Leslie was a lieutenant in World War 2. Dear husband of the late Jean Charlotte (1991.) Cherished father of Elizabeth DIVER, Margaret CLYDESDALE and Kevin BAKE. Dear father-in-law of Paul, Scott and Maria. Loved and missed by his grandchildren Brett, Gavin, Aaron, Meaghan and Lynn. Dear brother of Dorothy MOORE and brother-in-law of Mary HURST. Predeceased by grand daughter Kate. Visitation in the Lloyd R. Needham Funeral Chapel (520 Dundas Street, London) on Friday from 6-8 pm where a Legion service, under the auspices of the Victory Branch will be conducted at 7 pm. VOGEL, Cedric Anton
Cedric Anton, born October 16, 1914 in Vancouver, son of Hans Broder VOGEL and Annie (HUNTER) VOGEL, passed away peacefully at home on June 12, 2005. Loved and missed by his wife, Dorothy (MacLELLAN,) children Peter and Jan VOGEL, Chris VOGEL and Richard NORTH, and by his grandchildren, Christopher and Jamie VOGEL and Jason VAN DE VELDE. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Ced received a B.A. and B.Ed. from the University of Saskatchewan and taught in a one room schoolhouse in Saskatchewan until enlisting in the Royal Canadian Air Force. He served as a navigator with bomber command, being shot down and held in the Stalag Luft III prison camp until the end of the war. In 1946 he began his career with the Department of Veterans Affairs in Regina, then administering Deer Lodge Hospital in Winnipeg and Westminster Hospital in London. Special thanks to home care workers Elizabeth DIVER, Irene AMARAL, Lisa MALLOY, and Doris DIVER for their loving care. Ced will be interred in the family plot in Arcola, Saskatchewan. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and to the London Health Sciences Foundation. Died peacefully on August 28, 2005 at Sunnybrook, K-Wing in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of Mary, loving father of Mary Ann PEDLAR and her late husband Dick, Joan WILSON and her husband Dave, Benjamin and his wife Roselyne and the late Ken and his wife Pamela DIVER, proud grandfather of ten and great grandfather of ten. Carl volunteered in service of his country in 1942 and served on the destroyer H.M.C.S. Ottawa. He worked for American Optical for 43 years, was member of the Redmen singing group and of Glebe Road United Church. Friends may call at the Morley Bedford Funeral Home, 159 Eglinton Avenue West, Toronto, on Tuesday, August 30 from 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service in the Chapel on Wednesday at 1 p.m. Interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Passed away peacefully at Central Park Lodge on Friday, April 29th, 2005 in her 89th year. Beloved wife of the late James DIVER. Predeceased by her sisters Margaret WATT, Christina JONES, Pauline HORNBY and brother Frank WATT and parents James and May WATT. Sadly missed by nephew Paul MATTHEWS and family, Donna, Paul Jr., Lisa and the late Gloria and Marlene MATTHEWS. Remembered by Lois HAFFENDEN her life long friend of 68 years. Mrs. DIVER will be resting at The G.H. Dear sister of Florence GALLACHER (Neil,) Samuel DIVERS (Kathleen,) Edward DIVERS (Ellen) and Helen MacDONALD and her late husband Harry all of London. Predeceased by her parents James and Mary DIVERS and by her brother James DIVERS (1989.) Betty will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and greatnephews in Canada and Scotland, and also by her dear dog Benny. Visitors will be received at John T. Legendary homemaker, matriarch and protectress, contentedly in her 104th year. Married to the late Joseph PONESSE; mother of the late Thomas, his wife Sylvia (DIVINEC;) grandmother to their children Paula May, Ann Marie, Christopher and the late Michael great grandmother to Tia, Julia and Jackson. Auntie to Jean (CHURCHILL,) her late husband Bert and their children Bill, Steven, Christine, Ronald and Tony; great auntie grandma to their children. Guardian foster mom to many. Joining those gone before her - parents Giuseppe and Maddalena, 7 sisters, 3 brothers, relatives and Friends - in a rousing game of cards, after the bedding is shaken and provisions procured by bundle buggy. We are all enlivened and inspired by her life and example, and so blessed she came our way. Always with us, forever part of us...
