ago and soon established a highly successful business in Sudbury,
Henninger's Diesel, which involved him with the mining community
world-wide, developing new markets in Central and South America.
With Diana, he was passionately involved with his family and
community. He heli-skied with his son in Sweden, and laser sailed
on his beloved Lake Ramsey with his daughters. Together with
his family, he was central to every Sudbury Loppet. He waxed
skis, sponsored events and was the biggest fan and fiercest competitor.
His sense of adventure had him ice-boating and competing across
the world's seas at Masters' Laser Championships. This was balanced
by his intellectual curiosity. He was a voracious reader who
relentlessly informed himself about the world and ideas. Manfred
became a proud Canadian who ensured that his family developed
their own European roots. He lived his belief: To whom much is
given, much is expected. Resting at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral
Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury. Funeral Service in the R.J. Barnard
Chapel, Monday, February 21st, 2005 at 1: 00 p.m. Cremation at
the Park Lawn Crematorium. In lieu of flowers, donations to the
A.L.S. would be appreciated. (Friends may call 2-5, 7-9 p.m.
