At his residence on Saturday, June 11, 2005. Paul Arthur ROOVERS of Aylmer in his 56th year. Beloved husband of Chris (HAPONIK) ROOVERS and dear father of Jordan, Miranda and Justin ROOVERS. Born in Tukemen, Argentina on March 7, 1950, loving son to Simmone (SCHEPENS) DEBACKER. Step-brother to Antoinette CHALYSSIN. Predeceased by his father, Desire ROOVERS, step-father Prosper DEBACKER and an infant sister Arlette. He was a teacher at East Elgin Secondary School since 1977 and was involved in the Co-op program placing students in local Aylmer businesses. He was a badminton coach and involved in the football program. Friends may call at the H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Tuesday 7-9 and Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Prayers Wednesday at 8: 45 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Sorrows R.C. On Monday, November 14th, 2005, Donalda L. McCLURE died peacefully at Parkview Manor, Chesley in her 98th year. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Jim, in 2003. Donalda was born in Bentinck Township,▼ only daughter of Donald McGREGOR and Jessie YOUNG, and sister of Jim McGREGOR. She▼ was married in 1928 to Jim McCLURE, and spent the rest of her life in Chesley where they raised a family of eight children. She is survived by sons, Donald (Shirley) David (Joan); James Jr. (Betsy), William (Faye), Scott (Carole) and daughter Jessie (Peter DEBAIE;) twenty- seven grandchildren and thirty-eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughters, Jean McPHEDREN and Elizabeth WATHKE, four grand_sons, Daniel McCLURE, Andrew McCLURE, Hugh and Philip WATHKE, and great-grand_son, Aaryn FULTON. Donalda had a very busy and long life. She reported local news to local papers and newspapers, and could be seen at every meeting taking notes. She was an avid gardener and a member of the Horticultural Society and cultivated fruits and vegetables which she sold to local stores. Donalda was interested in history and was a life member of the Bruce County Historical Society. Visitation will be held at Cameron Funeral Home, Chesley on Thursday from 2: 00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 18th, 2005 at the Presbyterian Reformed Church, Chesley. Joseph CORBIERE, a resident of M'Chigeeng, died at the Wikwemikong Nursing Home on Sunday, January 16, 2005 at the age of 82 years. He was born on Manitoulin Island, the son of the late Edward and Emma (GEGWETCH) CORBIERE. Joe had many trades - farming, logging and saw milling, and worked at carpentry until his retirement in 1987. He loved horses and enjoyed horse pulls. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping, and bingo, and was an avid gardener. Joseph is survived by his loving wife Gina (DEBASSIGE) CORBIERE. Loving▼ father of Audrey and Susan of M'Chigeeng, Linda (and friend Dennis) of Minnesota, Jacqueline (and Phil) of British Columbia, Michael (and Penny), Joseph (and friend Rachelle,) and Lloyd all of M'Chigeeng. Alice PANAMICK, a resident of M'Chigeeng, died at the Manitoulin Health Centre, Mindemoya, on Tuesday, March 1, 2005 at the age of 45 years.
She was born at Mindemoya, daughter of the late Onesime and Theresa FINEDAY) PANAMICK. Alice had a wide range of interests, which included beadwork, leatherwork, cards, singing, bingo and watching hockey and baseball. She was awarded the Community Volunteer Award for her years of work for the Pow Wow Committee. Alice will be sadly missed in her community, but will be fondly remembered for her great contributions to her community. Alice is survived by her loving partner Nicholas DEBASSIGE. A graduate of Queen's University Engineering Physics in 1943, he served as a radar officer in the Canadian navy. As a respected business executive and volunteer, Abe exemplified the integrity and compassion of a true gentleman. God called home our beloved husband, father, pake, brother and friend on Saturday, February 12, 2005, peacefully at his home at Parkview Meadows, Townsend, in his 84th year. Beloved husband of Hilda ten Dam (DEBOER) and dear father of Leonard HOOGENBOOM of Elmvale, Letty and John McNEIL of Wyevale, Wilma HOOGENBOOM of Richmond Hill, Paul and Karen HOOGENBOOM of Woodville, Ed HOOGENBOOM of Richmond Hill, Irene HOOGENBOOM of Richmond Hill, Peggy and Peter HILL of Nelson, British Columbia, Sam HOOGENBOOM of Lefroy, Mark and Colleen HALLINK of Cambridge, Ray DEBOER and Doreen of Hamilton, Pete and Karen DEBOER of Jarvis, Marg HELDER and the late Jake of Jarvis, Tina and Leo VANTUYL of Welland, Trish DEBOER of Waterford, George and Sue THEODOROU of Dunnville and Jim and Betty DUNNETT of Townsend. Arie is also survived by many loving family members in Holland and by 37 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Arie was born in Lemelerveld, Overijssel, Holland in 1921 and immigrated to Canada with his wife and son in 1948 after World War 2. Arie spent many years farming and logging in the Ottawa Valley and north of Toronto and came to the Jarvis area in 1972 where he joined the DeBoer family and spent many years farming and being an active member of his church, most recently serving as an elder at the Christian Reformed Church in Jarvis. Arie will always be remembered for his strong faith in God, his joy of life, his stories, his joke telling and his laughter, and his love of hockey, country music and politics. Arie's presence will be sadly missed by many here on earth but all of the angels will be rejoicing in Heaven. peacefully and surrounded by love at home in Ottawa on 16 February 2005. She lived for many years in Sudbury where she raised her family and was very active in the Ukrainian community. Helen was extremely proud of her Ukrainian heritage; an accomplished singer, she was a regular soloist in the Dnipro choir, recorded Ukrainian folk songs and performed many concerts in the area. Her love of music and life was passed on to her children and grandchildren, many of whom have been attracted to the world of the arts. Helen was predeceased by the love of her life, Mike, and is survived by siblings Annie MacLEAN of Sudbury and Alec DEBRIE of Bracebridge. Helen leaves daughters Doreen, Mareka, and Joanne and husband Fred, and her son Dennis and wife Lyn, grandchildren Ivan, Mareka, Larissa, Andreka, Michael, Jason, Steven and Lesia, great-grandchildren Adrian, Dorien, Andrea, Jacob and Semara, and many nieces and nephews. Helen was beloved by them all, and she will be very deeply missed. The family is indebted to the Victorian Order of Nurses, Ottawa-Carleton chapter and the Community Nursing Registry of Ottawa for their wonderfully supportive home care, coupled with the warmth and obvious affection they held for her, which contributed immeasurably to Helen's comfort and well-being during the past several months. Special and heartfelt thanks to Deane Ronayne, Charlane MacKENZIE, Carol SHERMAN, Judy ROCK, Linda TOLSTOY, Diane COULTERMAN and Drs. Pippa HALL and Arlene ROSENBLOOM. After a short battle with illness, Madeleine M. DEBRUYNE passed away at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital on Saturday, September 17, 2005 in her 80th year, surrounded by her family. Predeceased by her husband and best friend Refin (1991). Loving mother to Maurice DEBRUYNE and his wife Jill of Kitchener, Rosalie DELANEY and her husband Richard of Courtland, Dianne WILLIAMS and her husband Terry of Tillsonburg. Beloved grandmother to Brett, Ryan, Tanner, Deena, Christine, Pauline and Stacey. Great-grandmother to Justin, Kyle and Madison. Miss Jeane YEO of R.R.#1, Union, passed away at the Saint Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Wednesday, March 2, 2005, in her 84th year. Aunt of Elizabeth HARALDSON and her companion Dan MARTIN of Springfield, Tim YEO of Barrie and Brian YEO of Trail, British Columbia. Great aunt of Kimberley, Scott, Lisa and Bud and great great aunt of Janessa, Marcus, Cadence, Serenity and Tyler. Dear friend of Gloria COLLAR of London and Ruby DEBUCK of Saint Thomas. A brother, F.L. “Bud” YEO died in 1992. Born in Southwold Township, Ontario, January 28, 1922, daughter of the late Fred and Lottie TRICKETT) YEO. She was employed as a chef at the London Psychiatric Hospital for many years until her retirement. Miss YEO was a member of Union United Church and the Union-South Yarmouth Seniors.
