Predeceased by brothers and sisters Betty SIMMONDS, Bob, Reg, Hilda, Vera and Ted WITTHAMES. Formerly of Saint Thomas and Port Stanley, passed away at Chester Village Nursing Home, Toronto on Friday, November 4, 2005. Wife of the late Gilbert "Gib" JOHNSON (1989.) Mother of Beth JOHNSON and her husband William GENTLES of Toronto, and Bob JOHNSON and his wife Georgena GILBERT of Ottawa. Grandmother of Cassie JOHNSTON and her partner Brent KIRWAN of Ottawa, and Christopher JOHNSTON and his wife Megan COLLINS of Vancouver, British Columbia. Mrs. JOHNSON was the last surviving member of her own immediate family, having been predeceased by sisters, Margaret and Grace Coffey and brothers, Robert E. COFFEY Jr. and Thomas L. COFFEY. Born in Saint Thomas, she was the daughter of the late Robert E. COFFEY Sr. and the late Margaret (LOWERY/LOWREY/LOWRIE/LOWRY) COFFEY. Mrs. JOHNSON was a member of Holy Angels' Roman Catholic Church, Saint Thomas and the Catholic Women's League and a former member of the Saint Thomas Curling Club and Tonti Chapter, Imperial Order of the Daughters of the Empire Friends will be received at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington Street, Saint Thomas on Monday evening from 7-9 p.m. Prayers will be recited at 7 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Angels' Roman Catholic Church, Saint Thomas on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Interment in Holy Angels' Cemetery. Terri will be sadly missed by her three children: Mary Jo, Margee (Pierre LEGACÉ) and Pat; her sisters: Alice STILES and Josephine BECHELEY; her in-laws: Fr. Elwyn MORRIS, Mrs. Mary KEARNS and Mrs. Angela HAGGERTY and her numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by her parents: Peter McIVER and the former Mary Catherine JOHNSON, her sister and brothers-in-law Mary and Scott COFFIN and Jeanne and John WRIGHT, her sister Margaret McIVER and her nephew Peter STILES.
Terri graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1946 and from the Ontario College of Education in 1947. She taught school in Petrolia and Perth in the late 1940's and early 1950's and at the Glendale High School in Tillsonburg during the 1960's and early 1970's. In Tillsonburg, she was past president of the Catholic Women's League and of the Tillsonburg Duplicate Bridge Club and "contributed much of her considerable energy to various community organizations. She was a lively, friendly and outgoing person, whose enjoyment of singing, dancing, stories and fun went with her everywhere. Her love of people, especially of children and young people and animals was appreciated by all who knew her. Her secret acts of kindness were many. We love you, Mum."

He was the loving husband and soulmate of Jeannie (MacKINNON;) dearest Dad to Margaret (Bill) and Mark (Joy,) and the most awesome 'Poppa' to Luke, Katherine and Holly.
