Embraced in the "Community Cloak" of her family and Friends,
Shelley Thomson/Buonastella passed away, Wednesday August 17,
2005 at the Toronto General Hospital. Her fierce battle with
non-smokers lung cancer ended, as it began, with Shelley surrounded
and protected by her family, her Friends and the broad community
she worked with and loved. A teacher and community activist,
she was treasured by her husband, Orlando, and her two children,
son, Sandro, Danya, her daughter and her dad, Murray (predeceased).
She leaves a vast network of loving survivors beginning with
her mother, Jessie

Four nieces and 10 nephews will miss their imaginative, musical
and gentle Aunt Shelley. Friends may visit at the Jerrett Funeral
Home, 1141 St. Clair Avenue W. (one block east of Dufferin St.)
Toronto, on Monday, August 22 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
A Celebration of her life will take place Tuesday, August 23
beginning at 1 p.m. at Trinity-St. Paul's United Church, 427
Bloor St. W. In lieu of flowers, Friends are asked to donate
to the David Suzuki Foundation 219-2211 West 4th Avenue, Vancouver,

funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Philip's Church, Petrolia,
on Wednesday, December 21, 2005 at 11: 00 a.m. Interment in Mount
Calvary Cemetery, Wyoming. As expressions of sympathy, memorial
