Peacefully, in Ottawa, Monday, September 12, 2005. Dorothy ALLEN age 93. Beloved wife of the late Frank Lorne ALLEN. Loving mother of Douglas (Marilyn) and Bruce (Doryss). Proud grandmother of Kevin, Wendy (Charles "Chuck" YATES), Melissa and Justin and great-grandmother of Kaitlyn and Patrick. Daughter of the late John and Nellie BOHAM. Willy was a retired owner of RBM Contractors who loved the outdoors, spending time with his nephews and was an avid woodworker and gardener. He is the son of Julia (DEWAELE) and the late Emiel BOHEZ. Beloved best friend and husband of Antoinette (BRAET.) Loving uncle and uncle-in-law of Linda OCOVICH and Koen VIAENE, Damien BRAET and Elizabeth WALLACE, Justin and Amanda BRAET and Julien, Gino and Mario BRAET. Dear great uncle of Emma and brother-in-law of Gerard and Janet MAHIEU- BRAET, Roger and Judith BRAET and the late Jose and Allette BRAET. Willy also a special friend of Nellie VANRUYMBEKE. Of Southern Pines, North Carolina, passed away on November 28, 2005 at Moore County Regional Hospital. A Celebration of Her Life will be held in the Henley Dining Room at Belle Meade in Southern Pines, North Carolina at 11: 00 a.m. on December 10, 2005, followed by a Celebration lunch at Belle Meade at noon. Interment will be at Pinelawn Memorial Park Mausoleum at 1: 30 p.m. Mrs. GUERNSEY wished there be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association in the name of Mary Rolls GUERNSEY. Mary was born on May 18, 1920 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. She grew up in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and in 1939 she married James Allison ROLLS. In 1948, the family moved to Mexico City, Mexico where they lived for seven years. In 1955, they moved to Cincinnati, Ohio. Mary and Jim lived an adventurous life and after Jim's retirement, from Procter and Gamble they represented International Executive Service Corps in several assignments including in Cali, Columbia, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Bangkok, Thailand. Mary Rolls GUERNSEY was predeceased by her husbands James Allison ROLLS, in 1984, Thomas William BOHMKER, in 1991 and Paul Garrison GUERNSEY in 2004. Mary is survived by her four children, John Allison ROLLS and his wife Betsy Becker ROLLS of Armonk, New York, James David ROLLS and his wife Barbara Friedmann ROLLS of Deer Park Illinois, Laurel Anne ROLLS of Dallas, Texas and Steven George ROLLS and his wife Jan Jamieson ROLLS of Cincinnati, Ohio, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. BOHNA; beloved daughter of Margaret D. and the late Douglas FITCH; sister of Murray, Colin, Nique and Kathy FITCH aunt of Nigel, Leah and Zachary FITCH; Beth grew up in Calgary, and had an honours B.A. from the University of Calgary and took her doctorate in Scottish History at the University of Glasgow, realizing a lifelong dream. She was currently a professor of History at California University of Pennsylvania. Memorial Services were held at both Calvary Episcopal Church in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and at California University of Pennsylvania. It is with deepest sorrow that we wish to announce the sudden passing of James Emerson THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON of London on Friday, March 11, 2005. Jim leaves behind his wife Ellen (GALLOWAY) who has shared the past 48 years lovingly by his side. To carry on the laughter he brought to so many Jim leaves behind his five devoted children Jean (Richard), Ian (Wendy), Bobby, Elaine (Shaun) and Jimmy (Linda). Jim's Irish eyes will smile on forever in the eyes of his adoring grandchildren Rachelle, Andrew, Alex, Allyse, Eric, Randi-Lee, Avalon, Matthew and Lia. Jim is also survived by his dearly loved brothers and sisters; twin John (Olga) THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON, Bruce (Joan) THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON, Jim PURDON, Ethel BOHONOS, and Jack GALLOWAY. Waiting to greet him in heaven are his parents Tom THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON (1994) and Lorene THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON (1991.) Also waiting with open arms are Tom GALLOWAY (1995) and Ethel GALLOWAY (1991,) Jean PURDON (1993,) Jackie GALLOWAY (2000,) Al BOHONOS (2004) and Mark GALLOWAY (2001.) Jim is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, all of which he loved dearly. Jim will be sorrowfully missed by his multitude of loving and caring Friends. Missing him already are his precious pups Olivia, Toby and Panda.
From Windsor to Ottawa, Jim was well known and loved by all he met in the 30+ years he spent on the road building the sales relationships that were so much more than that. Wherever his travels took him, Jim left behind a legacy of Friendships. There was no problem that a good talk and a good laugh couldn't fix. His attitude towards life and its obstacles was an inspiration to us all. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 7: 00-9:00pm and Sunday 2: 00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00pm at the Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North (2 blocks north of Oxford), where the funeral service will be conducted on Monday, March 14, 2005 at 1: 00pm. LAZARCHUK, Dr. Myron (1922-2005)
Dr. Myron LAZARCHUK of Kamloops, British Columbia passed away, surrounded by his devoted family, on August 16, 2005 at 82 years of age. He is survived by his loving wife, Olga, son Oleh LAZARCHUK of Logan Lake and daughter Marta WILDEMANN of Kamloops. Also left with treasured memories are relatives Mary BODNAR of Edmonton, Alberta, Zonya HADYM of Vancouver, British Columbia, good friend Walter HARDER of Kamloops, cousin Roman LAZARCHUK of Warren, Michigan, and niece Hala ZUBALA of Drohobuch, Ukraine. Predeceased by parents his Maria and Matthew, brother Orest, sisters Stephanie and Julia, in-laws Stan and Olga HADYM and niece Anna SZUMYLO. Born November 1, 1922 in Mariampol, Ukraine, Myron studied Medicine in Lwin, Ukraine and Vienna, Austria. After graduating from medicine in 1947 he came by boat to Canada, landing in Halifax. Nova Scotia. Myron travelled by train to Edmonton, Alberta where he worked for a short while before transferring to Prince Rupert. He then interned at St. Paul's Hospital in Vancouver in 1950 for a year then moved back to Prince Rupert and Hazelton. Myron moved to Kamloops in 1955 where he continued to practise surgery until 2001 and was Chief of Surgery at Royal Inland Hospital for 15 years from 1972 to 1986. He loved raising fancy pigeons and fishing at Peter Hope Lake. A very special man Prayers will be recited at 7: 00 p.m. on Monday, August 22, 2005 at the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church, 109 Tranquille Road. The Funeral Service will take place at 10: 00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 23, 2005 at the Church with Father Michael BOHUN officiating. Following the service, Dr. Myron will be laid to rest at Hillside Cemetery. The family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
