was deeply involved with the cattle business and devoted a large
part of his life to the betterment of the Beef Industry. Richard
was highly respected and revered by his colleagues and was a
much sought after speaker at annual meetings and conventions
as well as a judge at numerous competitions. He was involved
with many organizations and charities and was a member of both
the Knights of Columbus and the Norwich Legion. Friends and family
will be received at The Arn-Lockie Funeral Home, 45 Main Street
West, Norwich on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Funeral Mass of Resurrection will be held at Saint Mary's Roman

On Wednesday, August 10, 2005, surrounded by the love of her
family, Colleen (Connie) passed away after a short but courageous
battle with cancer. Connie was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother,
and aunt, and will be forever missed by her husband Ron, and
their children Sue and Nick

COHEN has gone to join his cronies in that Monday
Night Bridge game in the sky. He was devoted to his bride of
63 years Muriel "Mickey"
COHEN. He was a loving father to Peter,
Paul (Janeen), and Mark 'Cole' (Ellen). He was the respected
and irreverent grandfather to Peter, Jesse, Samantha, Roxanne,
and Zachary. He was pre-deceased by his granddaughter Alexandra
and his 'daughter' Wendy
BICKERSTAFF.
Bert also leaves a legion
of good Friends and loved ones - all of whom will miss and remember
his outrageous sense of humour and sharp wit. Bert was a successful
family man, a businessman who actually loved going to work each
and every day (which he did right up until a week ago). A tribute
to his practical, down-to-earth approach and incisive judgement
was his 60+ years of business success and his win-win long-time
association with the Lipson family. He was a terrific hockey
player in his prime, a graduate of the University of Toronto
(Master of Commerce), a lifelong donor and community volunteer
serving with distinction at the Toronto Jewish Free Loan Cassa,
the United Way and the Terrace at Baycrest. Bert was a World
War 2 veteran, a patron of the arts, a penultimate entertainer
and a true and loyal friend. Bert will be missed by all. Friends
and strangers alike were 'taken' with his special sense of humour
and his intuitive spark in conversation - an optimism conveyed
- a genuine article - that was Bert. At Holy Blossom Temple,
1950 Bathurst Street for service on Sunday, January 1, 2006 at
1: 00 p.m. Interment Holy Blossom Memorial Park. Evening shiva

Survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Eileen Louise (nee
BICKFORD,) three sons, Ronald (wife
Jocelyne) of Ottawa, Christopher
(wife Margaret) of White Rock and Neil (wife Brenda) of Ajax,
9 grand-children and five great-grandchildren. Born and raised
in Yorkshire, England he was a bright student and an avid sportsman.
After leaving school he worked as a municipal clerk until being
called-up to serve in World War 2. Following the war he became
a school-teacher, and emigrated with his family to Canada in
1951 where he eventually retired in 1973 as head of the English
Department at A.N. Myer School in Niagara Falls. John was an
alumni of McMaster University (B.A. 1958) and
of Queen's University
(Hon B.A. 1964). He was a humanist with a strong social conscience,
always cheerful, kind and gentle, with an original turn of phrase
and a marvelous sense of humour. He will be forever lovingly
remembered by his family, Friends and for mer students. A memorial
gathering will be held at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair
and McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, Ottawa, at 2: 30 p.m. on Saturday,
September 24, reception to follow. A donation to the Ottawa Regional

Passed away peacefully after a short illness on December 16,
2005 at Lakeridge Hospital, Bowmanville, in her 88th year. Predeceased
by her first son David, and Charles, her beloved husband for
62 years. Will be missed by son Paul and his wife Janet, their
sons Cameron and Matthew, and by grandchildren Sean and Katelin
and their mother Linda. Mid was born in Canton, and attended
high school in Port Hope. After graduating from the University
of Toronto, her career as an Occupational Therapist led her to
the Hamilton Psychiatric Hospital and Chedoke Hospital in Hamilton.
Mid resided in Hamilton, Burlington, Norland, Port Charlotte,
Florida, and, for the last ten years, at Wilmot Creek in Newcastle.
Mid will be remembered by her family and many Friends for her
kindness, generosity, and irrepressible spirit. Following cremation,
a memorial service will be held at the Ross Funeral Chapel, 135
Walton Street, Port Hope, Wednesday, December 21, at 11: 00 a.m.

at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie. Born in England in 1921.
Predeceased by his wife Isobel. Survived by his children Ron
and Louann, 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He served
as a Navy Pilot during the World War 2. He came to Canada to
train during the war and met his future wife, Isobel. After the
war, they came back to Toronto to settle. He was employed by
the City of Toronto in the Works Department. He will be missed
by his family and Friends. As per his wishes, no service was
