Passed away at Fairhaven Nursing Home, Peterborough, in her 80th year, on February 20, 2005. Loving wife of 55 years to John. Devoted mother of James (Ann) of Barrie and Ronald (Barbara) of Omemee. Cherished grandmother of Kathleen, Sharon, Daniel, Meghan, Blaire, Dana and Adam. Sister of Lois SHERIDAN (Aubrey) and predeceased by parents George and Ida CARSCADDEN, brother Harvey CARSCADDEN and sister Jean CARSCADDEN. Survived by sister-in-law Jean. Muriel was born and raised near Thornbury and graduated from Collingwood General and Marine Hospital as a Registered Nurse. She held the positions of Assistant Director of Nursing at South Lake Regional Hospital in Newmarket, Director of Nursing at Lady Minto Hospital, Cochrane and Discharge Planning Nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital in Peterborough. Muriel will be remembered for her volunteer work with the Alzheimer Society, her many hours of dedicated service at Northminster United Church, and many other organizations. She was a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, serving as Worthy Matron in Cochrane (1973). Friends may call at the Comstock Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 356 Rubidge Street, Peterborough on Tuesday, February 22nd from 7-9 p.m. Order of the Eastern Star No. 161 service at 6: 45 p.m. on Tuesday. A memorial service will be held The Following Week on Wednesday, March 2nd at 2: 00 p.m. at Northminster United Church, 300 Sunset Boulevard, Peterborough, Reverend J. Michael G. BEGBIE officiating. McGILL, Andrew Fredrick
Andrew Fredrick of Saint Thomas, on Sunday, March 6, 2005, at St. Thomas, in his 77th year. Andy was born in Westminster Township on May 17, 1928, the son of the late Duncan and Mabel BEGG) McGILL. Dear brother of the late Murray, Donald and Duncan McGILL. Andy dedicated 43 years to the elevator industry and he will be sadly missed by his Brothers in Local 90 of the International Union of Elevator Contractors. He was a man of integrity and total unselfishness and was loved by his Friends, co-pilot Leada, Randy WERNER, Jim and Velvette SANFORD and families and Chris, Janet and the gang at the Midtown. A private service was held at Andy's request with his ashes to be interred in South Park Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the charity of choice. Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, Saint Thomas in charge of arrangements. A tree will be planted in Pinafore Park as a living memorial to Andy.

Passed away in Reno, Nevada on November 21, 2005, a few days short of his 82nd birthday. Jules was the son of "Lap" LA PRAIRIE and Beatrice KELLY and is survived by his devoted wife Phyllis (GREEN,) daughter Ann M. MIERS (Paul,) sons Roger (Nancy,) Richard (Debbie), Dennis and nine grandchildren. Predeceased by son Christian and brother Carl LA PRAIRIE (Nonie.) Also leaving brothers Paul (the late Jean), Richard, Leon, Clifford (Virginia) and George (Rose) and sisters Rosemary MacKENZIE (Jim) and Jacqueline O'DONOGHUE (Joe) and sister-in-law Erna BEGGS and 162 nieces and nephews (in 3 generations).
Jules was born in Timmins, Ontario on December 1, 1923, his brother Paul's 4th birthday. Conveniently he was given to Paul as a birthday present. He was raised and educated in Toronto, served overseas with the 1st Canadian Paratroop Battalion, graduated from the University of Toronto in Mining Engineering and married Phyllis Green of Flin Flon, Manitoba, in 1950. Jules and Phyllis lived in mining camps across Canada and the U.S.A., with the last 35 years in Reno. Services will take place December 1st, the day of Jules 82nd birthday. Service will be conducted by Fr. Durante at Our Lady of Snows Church in Reno.

Of Espanola, passed away at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute on Thursday, June 2, 2005, in his 73rd year. Beloved husband of Marion (née WILSON.) Dear son of the late Gerald and Mae (YENSEN) HAGAN. Loving father of Peggy (Mrs. Paul BEGIN) of Orleans and Art (wife Barb) of Espanola. Will be sadly missed by 4 grandchildren Lyndsey and Kristey HAGAN, and Andre and Marc BEGIN. Ron had served on municipal council for 16 years, also serving as Deputy Mayor and Mayor. Prior to that, he enjoyed curling activities and served on the executive and building chair for the Espanola Curling Club. Since his retirement in 1990, he has enjoyed many seasons at the camp on Lake Penache with family and Friends. Resting at the Bourcier Funeral Home, Espanola on Monday, June 6th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at 10: 00 a.m. in the St. Louis de France Church, Espanola with Reverend John HARVEY officiating. Cremation to follow with interment of the ashes in the Espanola Cemetery at a later date. Peacefully, at Halton Hills Extendicare, on Saturday, November 5, 2005, in her 90th year. Kay was the beloved wife of the late Roy (1995.) She is survived by her sister Ethel MacKIE, and was predeceased by her sisters Mary BEGLEY, Winnie STROYAN, Hilda BLASAK and Anne FORBES. The family will receive Friends at the MacKinnon Family Funeral Home "Shoemaker Chapel" 55 Mill Street East, Acton, (1-877-421-9860 - toll free) on Monday, November 7th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Father Bob BULBROOK at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church (at the corner of Church and John Streets, Acton) on Tuesday at eleven o'clock. The interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Remembrances to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

At Alexandra Hospital, Ingersoll on Wednesday, December 7, 2005, William MacCallum (Mac) RIDDELL, of Ingersoll, in his 82nd year. Predeceased by his first wife Ellen F. (WILKES) RIDDELL (1999). Husband of Florence (CAVANAGH) RIDDELL. Dear father of Heather RIDDELL of Ingersoll, Cheryl and her husband Vincent PIZZIMENTI of Warren, Michigan. Dear grandfather of Rodney LAVA and his wife Lisa of Ingersoll, Robin and her husband Donald HOUSE of Ingersoll, Andrew VINEYARD and his wife Mary of California and Amy BEGNENE of Novi, Michigan. Also survived by eight great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, many step children and step grandchildren. Mac was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Navy Club, King Hiram Masonic Lodge, Ingersoll as well as a proud member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 48 years. Friends will be received at the McBeath-Dynes Funeral Home, 246 Thames St. S., Ingersoll Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where service will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2005 at 11: 00 a.m. Reverend Jim CARR officiating. Interment North Embro Cemetery. Memorial donations to Alexandra Hospital Foundation, St. James Anglican Church or charity of your choice would be appreciated.
