At the Woodstock General Hospital on Friday September 16, 2005. Gerrit Jan OTTEN of Norwich in his 86th year. Beloved husband of Hendrika (BAAN.) Dear father of Theresa and husband Garry AVERINK of Norwich, John and wife Wilma of Norwich, Wilma and husband Corney VANDERSPEK of Norwich, Garry and wife Connie of Norwich, Dean of Burgessville, Di Anne KWINTENBERG of Holland. He will be missed by his 29 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Survived by a sister Gerritdina OTTEN of Holland. Predeceased by a son in law Wim and 7 brothers and sisters. Friends will be received at The Arn-Lockie Funeral Home, 45 Main St. W. Norwich on Sunday 2-4 and 8-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the Heritage Netherlands Reformed Congregation, Burgessville on Monday September 19th at 2 p.m. D.V. Reverend M. KELDERMAN officiating. Interment C.G. Walker (Quaker St. Friends) Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Oxford Reformed Christian School would be appreciated. Arn-Lockie 863-3020

CHILDS, Michael Gordon
Mr. Michael Gordon "Mike" CHILDS a life long resident of Wallaceburg passed away suddenly on Monday, February 14, 2005 at the Chatham Kent Health Alliance "Sydenham Campus", in Wallaceburg, at the age of 45 years. Mike was the owner of the Oaks Inn in Wallaceburg. He was a past president of Wallaceburg Minor Baseball and past president of the Kinsmen Club of Wallaceburg. He devoted much of his time to minor sports in Wallaceburg. Mike was also involved with many Wallaceburg community events. Loving husband of 21 years to Dianne (O'NEIL) CHILDS. Loving father of Tyler, Adam and Jason. Dear son of Gord and Fran CHILDS and son-in-law of Harry and Grace O'NEIL all of Wallaceburg. Kind brother of Michelle and Barry LAJOIE of Sombra, Mark and Theresa CHILDS of Wallaceburg. Kind brother-in-law of Gary and Janice O'NEIL of Wallaceburg, Shirl and Doug GILLILAND of Glencoe, Trish O'NEIL and her friend Andy BAART of Wallaceburg and Stephen and Kim O'NEIL of British Columbia. Sadly missed by 1 niece and 7 nephews, many aunts, uncles, cousins, family and Friends. Predeceased by a sister-in-law Lisa O'NEIL and a brother-in-law Wayne O'NEIL. The late Mike CHILDS rested at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home, 639 Elgin Street, Wallaceburg, until Thursday, February 17, 2005 when the funeral mass was celebrated from Our Lady Help of Christians Church at 10: 30 a.m. Fr. John JASICA and Fr. John PIRT celebrated the mass and the Life Teen Band offered the music. The readings were done by John VANHECKE, Paul BAERT and John SALISBURY. The gifts were brought to the altar by the Bujaki Family. Doug BABBITT and Harry COURTIS offered eulogy's. The Kinsmen Club formed the honour guard. Flower Bearers were Doug BABBITT and Harry COURTIS. The Pall Bearers were Kim MURRAY, Doug EGLIN, Brian WADSWORTH, Paul BILODEAU, Mike BATEMAN, John SALISBURY, John VANHECKE, Paul BAERT and Randy SMITH. Interment has taken place in Riverview Cemetery, Wallaceburg. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Children's Trust Fund may be left at the funeral home. As a living memorial a tree will be planted in Nicholls Memorial Forest in memory of Mike CHILDS.

Visitation will be held at the Our Lady Help of Christians Church (Corner of Elgin Street and Duncan Street) on Wednesday, February 16, 2005, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, February 17, 2005, from Our Lady Help of Christians Church at 10: 30 am. A luncheon will take place at the Oaks Inn immediately following the funeral mass. A private family interment will take place in Riverview Cemetery, Wallaceburg. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Children's Trust Fund may be left at the funeral home. As a living memorial, a tree will be planted in Nicholls Memorial Forest in memory of Mike CHILDS.

Peacefully at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital on Friday, February 18th, 2005, Ruby RILEY of R.R.#1 Muncey, in her 76th year. Predeceased by her husband Arthur (1974). Dear mother of Linda (Ron) HONYUST of R.R.#2 Southwold, Wendy ELLIOT/ELLIOTT of Burnaby, British Columbia, Heather BAAYEN of Bowmanville, and Richard Nicholas of R.R.#1 Muncey. Loving grandmother of Ashley, Kerri, Kyle, Alison, Samantha, and great-grandmother of Ashton. Survived by sisters Valeria (Harold) WAYLAND of Thorold and Rita DAWSON of Windsor as well as several nieces and nephews. Will be sadly missed by special friend Wilma and family. Predeceased by sisters Marion and Leona and brother Basil. Friends may call at the Elliott-Madill Funeral Home, Mt. Brydges, on Sunday, February 20th from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to follow on Monday from the funeral home commencing at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow.
