"Inspiration" -- It's the one word that comes to mind when we
think of our dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
What other word best describes someone who lived with dignity
and surrounded by love for 96 years? It is with love in our hearts
that the family of Zelda Jean
BRAZEAU announces her passing on
Thursday, September 8, 2005 at Allendale Long Term Care Facility,
Milton. Jean was born in Ekfrid Township in 1909 to Joseph and
Jessie (née
HATHAWAY)
TANNER.
It's there that she learned to
love life. Jean made her home in Melbourne. There she was an
integral part of the community through the grocery store that
she ran for over 40 years with her beloved husbands, Sparling
CLARKE (1940) and Joseph
BRAZEAU (1992.) Jean enjoyed sports,
especially baseball. She played on a local championship women's
softball team in a time when woman didn't ever wear pants! She
was the loving mother of four children - Marion
CLARKE

McLAUGHLIN), Michael
BRAZEAU (Virginia), Jane
MacKINTOSH (Peter)
and Cheri DEPELSMAEKER
(Richard.)
Jean will always be remembered
for her wonderful sense of humour and her canned peaches by he
grandchildren Clarke

AYORA, Holly
KELLY, Joseph
BRAZEAU,
Jennifer
BARG, Meghan and Heather
MacKINTOSH, Carrie,
Lisa and Michael
DEPELSMAEKER.
These grandchildren will pass
on Jean's love of life to their children Jean's great-grandchildren,
Danielle, Xavier, Alexa, Evan, Benjamin, Jadon, Jakob and Kemar.
Jean is predeceased by great-grand_son Tyler
KELLY.
Jean is one
of nine children. She is survived by sister Lila
CARR and brother
Arnold TANNER and predeceased by Ida Mae, Ada Belle, Bill, Manetta,
Jim and Anna. At Jean's request cremation has taken place. A
Service of Remembrance and Celebration of her life will be held
in the Melbourne United Church (592 John Street, Melbourne, Ontario,
N0L 1T0) on Saturday, September 17, 2005 at 11: 00 a.m.; the Reverend
Richard GOLDEN officiating. The family will receive relatives
and Friends one hour prior to the Service. In lieu of flowers,
expression of sympathy may be made to Melbourne United Church
General Fund. The family would like to extend their heartfelt
thanks to Dr. Ivan
HUNTER and the nurses and caregivers of Allendale
in Milton, Ontario for their excellent care, especially during
Jean's final days. (Directions to Mebourne United Church: 401
West of London, Exit No. 157 Iona Road North to Melbourne, turn
right on John Street, second street pass stop sign). Arrangements
entrusted to the J. Scott Early Funeral Home, 21 James Street,
