Mr. ARTHRELL was a longstanding member of St. Paul's United Church,
Paris where he was an active member of the choir and served on

of the Paris Lawn Bowling Club. He was a former 50 year employee
of Penmans in Paris and Brantford. Friends will be received at

a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 176, Forest. Visitation
at the McKenzie and Blundy Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 431
North Christina Street, Sarnia 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, January

officer with the British Merchant Marine in World War 2, and
saw service in the convoys at the height of the Battle of the
Atlantic, in the Mediterranean, the Indian Ocean and the Red
Sea. He was a 35 year employee and, after his retirement in 1983,
a proud annuitant of Imperial Oil in Sarnia. Bruce sang in the
Central United Church Choir for 50 years, retiring in 1997. He
was a member of Liberty Lodge # 419 Ancient, Free and Accepted
Masons, Huron Lodge # 392 Ancient, Free and Accepted Masons,
Wawanosh Chapter # 15 Royal Arch Masons, St. Simon Cyrene Preceptory
# 37, and Mocha Temple A.A.O.N.M.S. He was also a member of the
Royal Canadian Legion Br. 176, Forest. Visitation at the McKenzie
& Blundy Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 431 Christina St. N.

hotels. He leaves a legacy of kindness, generosity and optimism.

Kingsway on the Park (Islington, Ontario) and the Mariposa (Hollywood,
Florida). He will be missed by all who knew him. Friends may

Peacefully in his 82nd year at St. Joseph's Health Centre in
Toronto. Norman is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Jean,
his children Gary (Maureen), Brian (Donna), Wayne (Katherine),
Sandra and D'Arcy (Sarah), his grandchildren, Steven, Michelle,
Somer, Matthew, D'Arcy, Whitney, Emily, Natasha and Isabel, great-grandchildren
Lauren and Claire. He is also survived by his sisters Helen and
Merna and was predeceased by his sister Aileen. Norman served
as a pilot and navigator with the Royal Canadian Air Force during
World War 2. He was a graduate of McMaster University in Political
Science, and founder of Arthurs Publications Ltd. Norman was
an avid boater spending many summers with family navigating the
waterways of Ontario. Later in life he renewed his skill as private
pilot and travelled across North America with his wife, Jean,
in his own plane. Throughout his years of boats and airplanes
and running a very successful business, Norman never wavered
in his passion for the game of golf and will be sadly missed
by his Friends of more than thirty years at Markland Wood Golf
and Country Club. Friends may call at the Turner and Porter 'Peel'
Chapel, 2180 Hurontario Street, Mississauga (Hwy. 10 north of
