Suddenly, on September 3, 2005, Marty Joseph Ancio, 40, a loving
and devoted husband, a dedicated and selfless father, was tragically
taken from us as a result of a motor vehicle accident. He will
be missed beyond words and comprehension by his wife, best friend
and soul mate Laura, and his beautiful daughters Krissy and Amanda
whom he loved deeply. Marty, a remarkable son, will be forever
mourned and missed by his parents Noreen and Gord

kindness, loyalty, unparalleled sense of humour, and contagious
laugh. We are enriched and privileged to have walked and laughed
with Marty. His memory and love is forever ingrained in our hearts

7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass from Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church,
129 Metro Road North, Keswick, on Monday September 12 at 11: 00

MIRHADY, Dr. Fereidoun "Fred" (January 2, 1922 - January 5, 2005)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dr.
Fereidoun (Fred)
MIRHADY. He died as he lived with all his family
close and him choosing his time. Born and raised in Tehran, Iran,
he received his medical training in Germany, Austria and England
- where he met his wife

Katharine
(STOUFFER)
MIRHADY before
immigrating to Canada in 1951. He enjoyed a multi-cultural pediatric
practice with an office at 63rd Avenue and Granville Street in
Vancouver that spanned almost 45 years and generations of patients.
He will be greatly missed by his wife Katharine and a devoted
extended family including five children: Nader (Chris

David (Mary-Alice), twelve grand-children: Eleanor; Brenna and
Vera; Daniel, Remi and Joseph; Elizabeth, Michael and Nicholas
and Ephraem, Robert and Renata. as well as his brother Rostam
(Switzerland) and his sister Touran (Iran)and many nieces, nephews,
Friends and colleagues. He was Emeritus Clinical Professor of
Pediatrics at University of British Columbia, an enthusiastic
chess player, and a devoted teller of jokes, especially those
using more than one of his many languages. He was an active member
of the Iranian community in Vancouver and, with his wife, gave
support to initiatives that supported cross cultural understanding,
especially those involving his country of birth and his adopted
country, Canada. A memorial service will be held at St. Stephen's
United Church, 7025 Granville Street, Vancouver at 11 am on Saturday,
January 15, 2005. Reception will follow at the church. In lieu
of flowers donations may be made to the Doctors F and K Mirhady Endowment
for Iranian Studies, Care of the Simon Fraser University Advancement
Office, 8888 University Drive, Burnaby, British Columbia, V5A
1S6.
