GILBERT, Shelley Margaret (née Shirley CROCKETT)
born June 11, 1929 in Calgary, Alberta, slipped away from us on April 21, 2005. Predeceased by her parents Arthur and Nellie CROCKETT, her sister Marion BROOKER and daughter Marty. She is survived by her sister Helen WILKINS. Married for 53 years to Bruce GILBERT, she leaves behind her eldest son Scott (Roma, Alexa, Ben), daughter Jay, youngest son Hartwell (Ursula, Ethan) and long time tenant and friend "the good son," Kelly SHULZE. She leaves Friends coast to coast after spending many happy years in Atlantic Canada and Quebec before moving to Vancouver. She will be fondly remembered as a generous hostess, a great cook and devoted grandmother who lived for family get togethers. Her wry humour and French malapropisms were unique. Special thanks to Doctors Sugar and Graff, nurse Gwen and staff at Lions Gate Hospital as well as cousin, Jimmy AKITT. If desired, donations may be made to the Salvation Army or Lions Gate Hospital Foundation. A celebration of life will be held June 11 at Mollie Nye House in North Vancouver from 2: 00-5:00.
Good night, sleep tight Grammie, we love you.
