After a long struggle with multiple sclerosis at Granite Ridge, Stittsville, on Saturday, June 11, 2005 in her 67th year. Cherished wife of Douglas and sister of Marcella and Anne. Beloved mother of Peter, Andrea and Vanessa and grandmother of Ethan, Adan and Yasmine. Honorary mom to Lecia. Former Director of the Community Nursing Registry of Ottawa and Administrator of the Almonte Nursing Home. Marni leaves a living testament to her life in her three fine children, in their partners Denise, Bill and Rashid, whom she welcomed to her heart and to the family, in her three adored grandchildren and in all the lives that she touched with warmth, affection and grace. The family extends their deepest thanks to the wonderful staff of Granite Ridge who cared for her with such devotion during her last years, and to Elin McLAURIN and Christiane MENDES who helped her through so many challenging years at home. Passed away unexpectedly at the Trillium Health Centre, Mississauga on Saturday, December 10, 2005 at the age of 91. Beloved wife of the late Percy DENNY and Albert CASE. Loving mother of Sharon and her husband Michael TROTTMAN. Much loved "Nana" of Matthew and Chance. Dear sister of Don BARNUM and his wife Arlene, Helen LOYNES and her late husband Jim, and the late Roy BARNUM and his late wife Ruth. Cherished friend of Peter McLAURIN. She will also be greatly missed by all her nieces and nephews. Evelyn had a wonderful ability to embrace change and dedicated her life to the people who meant the most to her. She was a "people person" who shared her passion for music, her beloved Blue Jays and life in general with all who knew her. Beloved wife of the late Percy (Bob) NOBLE. Dear mother of Lois McLAY and her husband Doug of Stokes Bay; Joey HOFSTRAND and her husband Stan of Tobermory; Linda WEATHERHEAD and her husband Sheldon of Lion's head and Bobbie HERR and her husband Jim of Saint Thomas. Special grandmother of Melony McLAY, Richard McLAY, Martha McLAY, Tony HOFSTRAND, Sandra MIELHAUSEN, Bobby HOFSTRAND, Chris WEATHERHEAD, Kim WEATHERHEAD, Kalin WEATHERHEAD, Jamie HERR, Justin HERR and fourteen great-grandchildren. Also survived by nine greatgrandchildren. Predeceased by a brother, Harvey O'BRIEN. Mr. O'BRIEN served his country during World War 2 with the Royal Canadian Army, serving in Europe from 1942 to 1945. It is with deep regret that Douglas and Eleanor FLOOD announce the passing of their daughter Linda Lou in her 54th year from Brain Cancer at her home in Panacea, Florida. Wife of Paul EAKIN, Panacea, Florida. Survived by her sons Andrew MARSHALL (Sharon) of London, Ontario and Todd MATUSCHAK of Woodville, Florida. Predeceased by Teddy VASKELES (1984.) Also survived by her brother Douglas J. FLOOD (Marg) and their children - Jaime J. and Morgan M. of Caledon East, Ontario, her Aunt Phyllis McLAY of London and Uncles William G. FLOOD (Gwen) of Niagara Falls and John F. PARKER of Strathmere Lodge, Strathroy, Ontario, several cousins, adopted Auntie Marj and Uncle Bert WILLS of Crawfordville, Florida. She was a graduate of the McEachran Public School in Lambeth and Laurier High School. Linda played a flute in the high school band. She was employed at the University Hospital in London before going to Florida. Linda was a highly regarded nurse at Tallahassee Community Hospital. She was awarded Employee of the Year in 2000 in the Emergency Department. Her boss said "She has all the qualities needed for extraordinary patient care, and the speed and skills required for Emergency Medicine". She was her Grandpa Flood's "Beauty". Of Edmonton and formerly of Saint Thomas, on Sunday, November 6, 2005, at Edmonton, in her 79th year. Beloved wife of the late James SPENCE (1973) and William LANG (1994.) Dearly loved mother of Judy and her husband Rick PAPE and their children Kathy, Nina and Rob of Edmonton, Mary LYNN and her husband Glen of Saint Thomas, Debbie SPENCE and her son Tyler of Edmonton, Gary and his wife Joyce SPENCE and their children Angela, Aimee, Jennifer and Jeffrey of Saint Thomas, John and his wife Sue LANG and their son Chad of Welland, Brian and his wife Teresa and their children Christine and Jamie of Midland and Bill LANG and his daughter Jessica of Edmonton. Predeceased by a son Neil SPENCE (1966.) She was the last of her family. Predeceased by 3 sisters Verda DURHAM, Jean HASSEN and Mary WARNER. Sadly missed by a number of nieces and nephews. Orpha was born in Southwold Station on February 9, 1927, the daughter of the late George and Hazel McLAY. A public Memorial service will be held at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, Saint Thomas on Saturday at 1: 00 p.m. Cremation has taken place, with private spring interment in McArthur Cemetery. Born in 1909, in Archangel, Russia, and passed away from this world, after a long and fruitful life, to be at peace with her beloved husband, Bernard VAN DE KAMER (1996,) and their dear daughter Joan. Sadly missed and dearly loved mother of Peter and his wife Pamela (Paris), Paul and his wife Barbara (Kitchener), John and his wife Ann (Fergus,) Ellen and her husband Ray PETERS (Kingston,) and Jenny and her husband Wayne HUCK (Guelph.) Jenny is survived by fifteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was the dear sister of Erica McLAY, Marguerite COATES, and Alma PETTINGER. Jenny was predeceased by here sister Edith MISENER and by her brothers Warren, William, and Alexander.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Jenny's life will be held at Forest Hill United Church, 121 Westmount Rd. E., Kitchener, on Saturday, July 9, 2005, at 11 a.m., the Reverend Jim McKNIGHT officiating. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario, or to the charity of one's choice would be appreciated by the family.
