Mrs. Jeanne Maria JANSSENS a resident of Port Lambton passed away on Monday Juanuary 24, 2005 at C.K.H.A. Sydenham Campus, in Wallaceburg at the age of 92 years. She was born in Hoboken, Belgium and was a daughter of the late Jozef and Maria (PALMANS) SOMERS. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church and the C.W.L. in Port Lambton. Jeanne immigrated to Canada in 1949 with her husband and children. They had resided in Blenhiem and Leamington until they farmed on the 5th concession of Sombra Township. Beloved wife of the late Edward H. JANSSENS (1979.) Loving mother and mother-in-law of Georgette and the late Roger Apers of Tupperville, Yvonne and Hector VAN DAMME of Wallaceburg, George and Marcia JANSSENS of Dresden, Frank and Nancy JANSSENS of Port Huron, Christine JANSSENS and her friend David FREED of Victoria, British Columbia and Margaret and Joe VERHOEVEN of Chatham. Sadly missed by 21 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren. Kind sister-in-law of Rosalia JANSSENS of Belgium and August and Josephine JANSSENS of Kerwood. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by an infant daughter, one sister and two brothers. The late Mrs. JANSSENS rested at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home, 639 Elgin Street, in Wallaceburg, until Friday, January 28, 2005 when the funeral mass was celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, Port Lambton at 10: 30 a.m. with Fr. Greg BONIN, celebrant. Mr. Dennis MYERS presided at the organ and the church choir sang the mass. A eulogy was given by Jean ELLIOT/ELLIOTT. The readings were done by Eric VERHOEVEN, Ellen Jennen and Michelle ANJIMA. The pall was placed on the casket by her children. The gifts were brought up to the alter by Joanne JOHNSTON, Brian JOHNSTON, Linda STEFINA, Erika STEFINA and Lisa VERHOEVEN. Pall Beaerers were Rene APERS, David APERS, Ed JANSSENS, Gerry JANSSENS, Ron VAN DAMME and Michael VERHOEVEN. Flower Bearers were Kathleen VANDEVENNE, Jennifer HASTINGS, Donna JANSSENS and Jane McFADDEN. Interment was in Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery. C.W.L. prayers were offered at the funeral home on Thursday at 3 p.m. Parish prayers were offered at the funeral home on Thursday at 8 p.m. As an expression of sympathy donations to the Victorian Order of Nurses Nursing Education or the Sydenham Hospital Continuing Care may be left at the funeral home. After a long, happy, and productive life, it is with sad hearts we say goodbye to Jack, on Wednesday, June 22, 2005, in his 82nd year. He was a loving husband and best friend to his wife Pat for over 60 years. He loved and admired his three daughters, Lynda MacGREGOR (David), Anne McFADDEN, and Susie PLUMPTON (Dan). He was a mentor to his grandchildren Erin, Megan, and Rob, and enjoyed wonderful times with them. Jack graduated from the University of Toronto in Physical and Health Education and entered the recreation world in Brantford and Leaside as Recreation Director. He was the Ontario representative for the Community Programs Branch. He joined the faculty of Humber College, where he taught Recreation Leadership before becoming department chair. He was the founding president of the Leaside Curling Club. Upon retiring, he returned to his beloved Newcastle and became active in the Clarington Older Adults Association, the Newcastle/Bond head Ratepayers Association, and the Newcastle Village and District Historical Society. The family will receive their Friends at the Newcastle Funeral Home, 386 Mill St. S. Kathleen was born in England, April 24, 1915 and was a long time resident of Kipling Acres, where she was much loved, and admired for her kind and cheerful disposition. Kathy was sent to Canada, as an orphan, by the British Government, with a boatload of young children in 1930, to work as a mother's helper. She soon after joined the family of the late Edna and Roy TASH, as a nanny for their daughters Norma (McFADDEN/ PEARCE) and Bette (BARRETT/ ESCH.) Kathy▼ lived with them in Montreal and Toronto for 50 years, becoming a treasured member of the family, and a 'second mother' to the girls. She was a beloved grandmother figure to their children: Doug, Dave, Wayne McFADDEN, Marilyn▲▼ STERN, and Bruce, Larry and Scott BARRETT. A dear great-grandmother of twelve. Although Kathy never married, she met the 'love of her life', the late Ernie SNODDEN at Kipling Acres. Many thanks to the staff, Friends and volunteers on the 4th floor who so ably cared for her. Passed away on Tuesday, August 2nd, 2005, at Toronto Grace Hospital after a lengthy battle with cancer, borne with dignity, courage and a sweetness of spirit that amazed his family, doctors, and Friends alike. He was an inspiration to all. Bill was predeceased in 1991 by his first wife Barbara▲ A.▲ PARKER. He leaves behind two daughters, Deborah McCOMBE (late John McCOMBE,) Marilyn▲ (Marnie▲) REDMOND and her partner Jeff CHAPMAN. Bill▲ leaves his much loved wife and best friend of the past 12 years, Norma (TASH/ McFADDEN) and her children Doug and Nancy McFADDEN of Greenwich, Connecticut, U.S.A., David and Deborah McFADDEN of Bettendorf, Iowa, Wayne and Nancy McFADDEN of Etobicoke and Marilyn and Rick STERN of Etobicoke,▲ plus 12 grandchildren: William and Robert McCOMBE, Lisa, Daniel and Laura STERN, Michael, Erin, D'arci, William, Liz, Alison and Andrew McFADDEN. He loved team sports and played football and basketball while at High School and U of T, Ajax campus. He joined St. George's Golf and Country Club in 1947 as a golfing member and was a founding and active member of the club's curling section. Bill spent over 50 years in the printing business in sales and management with Bowne of Canada, Rous and Mann and the Pearce family business, The Northern Miner. Kathleen was born in England, April 24, 1915 and was a long time resident of Kipling Acres, where she was much loved, and admired for her kind and cheerful disposition. Kathy was sent to Canada, as an orphan, by the British Government, with a boatload of young children in 1930, to work as a mother's helper. She soon after joined the family of the late Edna and Roy TASH, as a nanny for their daughters Norma (McFADDEN/ PEARCE) and Bette (BARRETT/ ESCH.)
