It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Angela Frances COOPER of London, on Friday, May 13, 2005, after a long illness which she faced with great courage, dignity and humour. She is survived by her mother Susan COOPER, her sister Susan Elizabeth, her brother Thomas COOPER and her niece Marika WOLFERT, her Oma and Opa Susan and Rudi HENNING, her great-grandmother Susan McNAUGHTON, her father Tom COOPER, her grandparents Jean HENRY, Robert and Marnie COOPER, her aunts and uncles Norman and Cindy HENNING, Jim and Maureen McNAUGHTON, Doug and Char GORRIE, Deb and Rick CARPENTER, Guenther and Ellen HENNING, as well as her cousins Jennifer, Tabbitha, Sabbrina and Marriah HENNING, Becky CARPENTER, Mikey, Taige, Julie, Graeme and Laura. Angela touched and inspired all who knew her and she faced her fate with grace and dignity. We'd like to extend a very special thank you to the entire staff at Children's Hospital of Western Ontario, in particular Dr. CAIRNEY, Mary-Anne and Melissa as well as every nurse, support staff and all the others who were so kind to her. Born in Mlawa, Poland, died at Baycrest Hospital on Tuesday, August 23, 2005. A graveside funeral was held on August 24, at Dawes Road Cemetery. Jack was predeceased by his loving wife Ann SILVER and by his brother Moishe GRADZANOWSKI. His brothers Avrum and Elleh and his parents Toivieh and Frimet perished in the Holocaust. He is survived by his nieces Dorothy WAHL, Dina WOLFISH (Marvin) and Leah LEVINE (Philip) and by their children. Our uncle was a tailor by trade but his passion was song and especially Yiddish song. He remembered melody and verse of the songs that depicted with humour and poetry the world of Eastern European Jewry. He was a lover of Yiddish. He was a reader and a chess player. He believed in the ideals of social justice and was a member of the Workmen's Circle from his arrival in Canada until his death. He was above all gentle, generous and kind. May you sleep peacefully and may the earth lie gently upon you our dear and gentle uncle.

SALTER, Peggy (née WILSON)
Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia on January 21, 1921. Passed away at home in British Columbia on May 10, 2005. She was predeceased by her husband, Doug in 1992. She will be greatly missed by her son, Blair SALTER and his wife, Heidi, her daughter, Gini SALTER and her husband, Mark DI LABIO, and her grandchildren, Avery SALTER, Joe SALTER, Ben SALTER, Beth DI LABIO and her husband, Mike WOLFSON, and Greg DI LABIO. Peggy and Doug lived in Tsawwassen, British Columbia for over thirty years, enjoying their community and making contributions through volunteer service. They both attended Lawrence Park Collegiate in Toronto. Peggy worked as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and was proud to stay in contact with the Women's Royal Naval Service Association and always enjoyed their functions. Peggy's life was a life well lived. Thanks to all the staff at Delta Hospital and especially to Dr. Colleen Lee who supported Mum's desire to stay at home until the end of her days. A memorial service will be held at Benediction Lutheran Church, 6th and 56th Streets in Tsawwassen on Friday, May 20 at 3: 00 p.m. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Upon his retirement he was appointed Secretary Emeritus of the Manitoba Law Society. He was Secretary Treasurer of the Conference of Governing Bodies of the Legal Profession in Canada, 1960-1972. Also was a Bencher of the Law Society of Manitoba, Lecturer at Manitoba Law School, President of the Manitoba Bar Association 1957-1958. Appointed to Queens Council in January 1953. He served in the Second World War with the Royal Canadian Air Force 1941 to 1945 as pilot and flying officer. Of Hyde Park, passed away peacefully with family by his side at the London Health Sciences Centre - University Campus on Thursday, December 8th, 2005. Loving husband for 58 years of Elfreda and caring father of Sylvia (Mike) WOLKOWYSKI, Mavis (Bill) LAKE and Chris GRANZIOL. Proud Poppa of Justin GRANZIOL, Sarah GRANZIOL and special Poppa to Nicole WHITE/WHYTE. Brother of Mildred, Edith and Brian in England. Predeceased by his parents Charles and Elizabeth GOOCH, brothers Albert, Edward and Harry and sister Ivy. Jack was born in England on January 17, 1918 and proudly served in the British Army during the Second World War. He moved with his family to Canada in April 1957. Following numerous jobs on farms in the London area, he became a Custodian with the London Board of Education where he worked in several London elementary and secondary schools. A Service of Remembrance will be held at Memorial Funeral Home, 1559 Fanshawe Park Road (east of Highbury), on Tuesday, December 13, 2005 at 1 p.m. with visitation one hour prior. Jill was the daughter of the late Rolland and Margaret GATES, and will be lovingly remembered by her sisters Lorna (Jim) ASTELS and Carol (Clive) GAY and their children. She is also survived by her mother-in-law Mildred WOLLIN and her sons Peter (Heidi,) Kenneth (Judy,) Andrew (Karen) and their families. Jill had an endless passion for books and as the librarian in Claremont for about 20 years, she will be fondly remembered by a large number of Friends and companions within the community. Marion passed away at the Riverview Health Centre on October 22, 2005 after a struggle with lung cancer. She was predeceased by her husbands Edgar VAISEY in 1961 and Lawrence GENSER in 1997 and her son Jacques VAISEY in 2003. She is survived by: her sister Dorinne THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON and her family; daughter Jill VAISEY and her husband Peter DICKOF and their children Carla and Raymond DICKOF daughter-in-law Tasha NATHANSON and her children Saskia, Ariana, and Bronwyn VAISEY; step-daughter Irene CORNE, her husband Bob and their children Lesley and Jeff WOLMAN, Janet and Michael KATZ, Maureen and Avi SLAMA, and Eric and Aimee CORNE, and their children (Marion's great-grandchildren) Yale and Serena WOLMAN, Ariel, Liav and Neeve SLAMA, and Ira CORNE; and by her step-son Steven GENSER. Marion was born to Florence and Dolph BERRYHILL in Winnipeg on April 3, 1929. She graduated with a B.Sc. from the University of Manitoba in Home Economics in 1949 and an M.Sc. in Nutrition from McGill University in 1951. She went on to teach in Halifax, Corvallis and Guelph before joining the University of Manitoba's Home Economics Faculty (now Human Ecology) in 1965 where she taught and did research using sensory methods to evaluate foods such as canola oil. She joined the administration of the University in 1980 as Associate Dean of Graduate Studies and served as the Associate Vice President, Research from 1983-91. She published many papers and received a number of awards throughout her career. After her retirement in 1993, she was honoured with Senior Scholar and Professor Emeritus status. Elegant and erudite, sharp witted and well spoken, successful professionally and charming personally, Marion was an inspiration. She worked gladly to further causes as diverse as women in the sciences and Canadian food products. She served on national science committees and even appeared on Korean television to promote flax seeds for her beloved prairie provinces. She loved her family, playing cards, and ending the day with a nice bowl of vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce or - joy! - raspberries from the garden. We will all miss her terribly. A memorial service will be held in Winnipeg at 1: 00 p.m. on Saturday, October 29th at Saint John's College Chapel, 92 Dysart Rd. A reception is to follow in the Cross Common Room. Parking is available across the street. In lieu of flowers, and in recognition of the tremendous help provided to Marion by the W.R.H.A. Passed away suddenly, at her home in Burlington, on Saturday, May 14, 2005, at the age of 78. Beloved wife of Gus for almost 57 years. Loving mother of Donna WOLOSZANSKI and her husband Steve. Cherished grandmother of Staci TODD and her husband John, James and Robert WOLOSZANSKI, and great-grandmother of Colby TODD. Dear sister of Marion SLAVISH and Ron NELSKI. She will also be sadly missed by her nieces and nephews. As per her wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial Service to follow in June. In memory of Stephanie, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be sincerely appreciated by the family. Passed away, at the Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital, Burlington, on Saturday, May 21, 2005, at the age of 88. Beloved husband of the late Stephanie (May 14, 2005) for almost 57 years. Loving father of Donna WOLOSZANSKI and her husband Steve. Cherished grandfather of Staci TODD and her husband John, James and Robert WOLOSZANSKI, and great-grandfather of Colby TODD. Dear brother of Stella McCARTNEY of Kitchener. He will also be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews. The family wishes to acknowledge and thank the nurses at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital - 4 East, Palliative Wing, for their kindness and excellent care. As per his wishes, cremation has taken place.
