Graduate of Wellesley Hospital School of Nursing. Was an Aviation writer and Canadian Representative for Interavia of Geneva and Lockheed Aircraft Corporation of California. Member of the Aviation/Space Writers Association, President of The Media Club of Canada (Ottawa) and member of the National Press Club of Canada.
Her generosity, compassion and loving nature touched and inspired many lives.

Betty was born to Laura and Harold WILLS of Dresden 87 years ago. She lived on a farm in Dresden until she met her husband of 62 years, Verne, and moved to Wallaceburg to start their business, Rich-Hill Men's and Boy's Wear. She is predeceased by two brothers, Cecil and Fergus and a young sister, Elsie. Betty's family includes two daughters, Patty ZINKIE of Ottawa and Jayne GLOVER of Wallaceburg and one son, David of Prince Edward Island. Betty has 3 sisters, Dorothy BROWN of Toronto, Amy FIELD of Sarnia and Connie WILLS of Wallaceburg. She is lovingly remembered by 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Betty was a member of Trinity United Church all her life, and an honorary life member of Legion Chapter Imperial Order of the Daughters of the Empire She was involved and loved the many bridge clubs formed over the years. Peacefully at Simcoe Manor, Beeton on Friday, December 23rd, 2005. Ethel DUNN of Beeton and formerly of Bracebridge, in her 88th year. Beloved wife of the late Larry DUNN. Survived by Judy FIRTH and her husband John of Barrie and Bill DUNN of Bracebridge. Loving grandmother of Steven FIRTH, Tim and Terry DUNN and the late Jason FIRTH. Dear sister of Marie CAMPBELL, Edith O'BRIEN, Joan HARDINGE, Gord HOLMES, the late Elsie HARDY, Mae BALDING, Art and Jack HOLMES, Doris WILLS, Nora ELLIOT/ELLIOTT and Marge DAVIS. At Ethel's request, a Family Service will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place. Memorial donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family and may be made through the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Homes, 30 Worsley Street, Barrie, Ontario L4M 1L4.
