It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Eric, in his 90th year, early in the morning in his home, Southbrook Lodge, Brampton. We are thankful his passing was peaceful. Devoted husband of the late Frances Marion SIDSWORTH (died 1977) and caring brother to Mrs. Jean POLLOK. Cherished Dad of Sandi HICKS (Jim), Terry SHAW (Bob), Pam ANDRES, Ann WILLE (Mark), Lyn CAMPBELL (Don) and Susan SPRINGALL (Ron.) Adored grandfather of Ryan, Shelley, Kristine, Kelly, Andrew, Stephanie, Melanie, Thomas, Victoria, Rachel, Tyler, Natalie, Owen, Alyssa and great-grandfather to Angelina. Dad was born in England where he grew up with his sister Jean and mother Marion. He excelled in swimming and was a member of England's National Polo team. Dad graduated from the prestigious St. Paul's school in London and went on to graduate in Electrical Engineering. He signed up for the Merchant Navy as an engineer during World War 2. Post-war, Dad immigrated to Canada in 1950. He met and married Mom in 1952 and was fondly known as "Goof". They welcomed 6 girls into the world and had many fun years watching the family grow. Dad worked for Canada Standards Association all his working career. He was dedicated to improving standards in Canada and was a pioneer in arson investigation. He retired in his 60's and continued to do contract work well into his 70's. Dad instilled a love of art, fitness, cooking and nature in all of us. He was one of the founders of the Franklin Carmichael Art Group and imported the first fold-up kayak to Canada. In Dad's younger years golf was his sport and travelling his pastime. In later years, he kept his mind sharp with crossword puzzles and bridge. He was always up for a laugh and could always remember a joke. There was nothing Dad loved more than his family. Dad lived a simple life and gave much to others. Dad, we adore you and will always cherish the memories we have. A memorial service has been planned for Friday, June 17th at York Cemetery, 160 Beecroft Rd., North York, from 1-4 p.m. (416-221-3404). Please drop in.

A resident of Ridgetown, John C. FAAS died at Four Counties Health Centre, Newbury on Wednesday, April 6, 2005 at the age of 75. Born in Zeeland, The Netherlands, son of the late Cornelius and Lavina (VAN DE LUSTER) FAAS. John founded Faas Construction in 1950 and was the last Mayor of the Town of Ridgetown. He also was a Deputy Reeve of the former Kent County, a Past President of the Ridgetown Rotary Club and the Ridgetown Chamber of Commerce. John was an Elder and Teacher at Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church and an avid golfer.
Beloved husband of Joan Marie (BURR) FAAS and the late Simone (WILLEMKENS) FAAS (1999.) Mrs. Johanna TRENTELMAN, age 87, a long time resident of Trinity Street, Stratford passed away peacefully at Hillside Manor on Saturday, March 12, 2005. Anne was a member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Stratford, and was active in the Catholic Women's League and the Choir for many years. She had been a volunteer with the Red Cross for over 25 years and was an avid knitter, quilter and gardener.
Beloved wife of the late Herman TRENTELMAN who predeceased her January 12, 1992. Loving mother of Henk and his wife Brenda, SunnyBrae, Nova Scotia, Jerry and his wife Gabriele, R.R.#1 Tiverton, Ine MICHIELS- GANSEVLES and husband Hank, Saint Thomas, Annette BORTOLUSSI and husband Franco, London, Marcel and his wife Cheryl, Stratford. CROSSLEY, Evelyn
Evelyn CROSSLEY passed away July 13, 2005 at her residence in London, in her 97th year. She was predeceased by many of her family including her beloved husband Jack Clayton CROSSLEY (Owen Sound) and son William John Clayton CROSSLEY (Calgary.) Throughout her life, Evelyn touched many lives. In 1959, she took over the family business, Northern Transport, which she managed successfully through the sixties and into the seventies. Her true joy, however, was doing volunteer work in the community. She was an active member of St. George's Anglican Church in Owen Sound and particularly enjoyed being on the Chancel Guild. In the community, she took great pleasure in serving Meals on Wheels and was a proud member of the local Imperial Order of the Daughters of the Empire. She was a dedicated mother and a truly admired and cherished Aunt Ev. She will be remembered for her courage and dignity, her sense of humour, her generous smile, and her remarkable memory for people, places and cards (mostly at the bridge table).
Evelyn is survived by her daughters Gail McNEILL (Windsor) and Linda CROSSLEY- HAUCH, son-in-law Kuyler HAUCH (London) and daughterin-law Linda CROSSLEY (Calgary.) She is also survived by eight grandchildren, seven greatgrandchildren and her nieces Frances WALSH (Markdale,) Sheila HOMENIUK (Calgary) and Eleanor Crossley DUNLOP and her husband Wayne (Sauble Beach.) The CROSSLEY family wishes to extend a sincere thank you and appreciation to Dr. Ron WILLER, for his extraordinary care and medical attention, to Lisa GUIDOLIN and Peter CALVERT for their ongoing Friendship and support and a special thanks to Becky CALVERT whose devotion and care provided great comfort and solace to her "gramma" as she approached the end of her long life well lived. Mrs. Laura Ethel (née WILLERT) HINTZ passed away on March 15, 2005, in her 95th year. Ethel has resided at the Village of East Harbour Senior Living Community, New Baltimore (formerly known as the Presbyterian Village East) for the past 10 years. Ethel was born November 21, 1910 in Ontario, Canada, the daughter of the late George WILLERT (1947) and Laura GREB (1978.) She was raised in Petrolia, Ontario, Canada where she trained to be a nurse. Ethel Laura WILLERT married Albert Edward BAUMAN/BOWMAN in Indiana on August 4, 1934 and was very proud to become a U.S. citizen on July 5, 1939. They resided for many years on Stapleton Street in Mount Clemens where Ethel tended to her rose gardens. Ethel's husband, Al predeceased her in 1954 and she remained a widow for 32 years. At age 76, Ethel married Arthur George HINTZ on April 12, 1986 at Zion United Church of Christ, Mount Clemens. They resided in Art's home on North Avenue, Macomb Township. Sadly, Art passed away 2 years later on July 28, 1988.
Ethel▼ is survived by her sister-in-law, Nora WILLERT; nephew, Bob (Cheryl) WILLERT and their daughters, Sarah and Terri all of Sarnia, Ontario, Canada; Sister Rose Carmel BURGESS of Detroit, Janet (Mark) DAVISON of Oakland, Michigan, John ALMSTADT of Orion, Michigan, Bev WILLERT's family from Windsor, Ontario, and many cousins and Friends. Peacefully, at his residence, surrounded by his family, on Monday, October 31, 2005, Glenn E. KOEHLER, of R.R.#2 Hensall, in his 75th year. Beloved husband of Audrey (Campbell) KOEHLER. Dear father of Brenda and Richard SCHILBE of Zurich, Garry and Brenda KOEHLER of Hensall and Betty Lynn and Doug ECKEL of Zurich. Loving grandpa of Jason and Krista SCHILBE, Shauna and Jillian KOEHLER and Jaime and Kraig ECKEL and great-grandpa of MacIntyre and Hallee SCHILBE. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Joan and Art McCALLUM, Dianne and Raye ARMSTRONG, Linda and Denton GAISER, Keith and Fiona KOEHLER, Elmer and Anna CAMPBELL and Marg and Ray CONSITT. Sadly missed by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Bruce and Pearl (WILLERT) KOEHLER and one brother Donald and his wife Alice, his father-in-law Percy CAMPBELL and his mother-in-law Emma CAMPBELL. Visitation in the Hensall Visitation Chapel, 79 King Street Hensall on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at 11 a.m. Mr. Bob HEYWOOD officiating. Interment Hensall Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of ones choice. Peacefully at her residence on Saturday, November 5th, 2005, Mrs. Jean Louise (SUTHERBY) NELSON, of London, in her 88th year. Beloved wife of the later Michael Bernard NELSON. Loving mother of Norma Jean (Ron) CADOGAN and Karen (Vern) SCHIRMER. Also loved by her six grandchildren; Stephanie (Nick) KOUTRAS, Steve (Lori) CADOGAN, Laura (Chris) McGEE, Jeff (Aileen) PHILLIPS, Holly (Rick) CRACKLE and Melissa (Darrin) PHILLIPS. Also loved by her 12 great-grandchildren. Predeceased▲▼ by her brother Tom, and sisters Luttie (Tom) WILLERT and Florabelle (Ed) McCOY. Survived by her sister Daisy (Bert) WEBSTER. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will take place at Mount Pleasant Cemetery on Tuesday, November 8th, 2005 at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Red Cross (Give Life-Give a Unit of Blood) would be greatly appreciated. Peacefully, on the wings of Butterflies, Ruth (LANGFORD) NUTKINS, in her 86th year, on Sunday, December 4, 2005 at Caressant Care Nursing Home, Saint Thomas. Wife of the late Lloyd NUTKINS. Beloved mother of Carol LAMONTE and Beth McKINLAY (Bob) all of London. Loving mother-in-law of Bill VAN WELZEN of Saint Thomas. Cherished grandmother of eight grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. Sister-in-law of George NUTKINS and Cecil MORRIS both of London. Aunt of several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her daughters Ellen VAN WELZEN and Noreen WILLERT and son-in-law Bruce WILLERT. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at St. Stephen's Memorial Anglican Church, 727 Southdale Road East, London, on Wednesday, December 7 at 1 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Peacefully at London Health Sciences Centre Westminster Campus, on Sunday December 11, 2005 Robert J.Bob HUTTON of Thamesford in his 73rd year. Beloved husband of the late Yvonne (MITCHELL) (1991) and dear father of Janice and Keith HENDERSON, Bonnie and Gary BRUNSDON, and Cindy and Harold McCALL all of Thamesford and Carol and Howard McCALL of Embro. Also loved by 9 grandchildren, Kevin, Kyle, Keri, Tara, Sarah, Jenna, Nicole, Alicia and Mathew and one great-granddaughter Abby. Brother of Bernice SUTHERLAND and Ross HUTTON both of Mt. Brydges and Dorothy PICKARD of Cornwall. Predeceased▲ by one brother Don, and one sister Hazel WILLERT. Also sadly missed by his dear friend Margaret WALPOLE and her children, Kimberley and Cindy.
