Air Arm, Royal Navy during the war and joined the Argyll and
Sutherland Highlanders of Canada (Princess Louise's) upon his
return. He transferred to the Toronto Scottish Regiment and over
the years served as President of the Royal Canadian Military
Institute, President of the Toronto Historical Board, Chair of
the Warrior's Day Parade Council and Honorary Colonel of the
Argylls. He will be remembered by his Friends and colleagues
of the Royal Canadian Yacht Club, The Gordian Club, the Royal
Naval Association and the Naval Club of Toronto. An executive
in the investment and insurance community and long time resident
of North Toronto he moved to the Veterans' Wing of Sunnybrook
Hospital following a stroke in 2002. In lieu of flowers, donations
may be made to the Sunnybrook Hospital Veterans' Comfort Fund
or the Canadian Cancer Society. Memorial service arrangements
will be announced.

A eulogy and remembrances were shared by grandchildren Danna,
Douglas and Eric. Music included the congregational hymns "The
Lord's My Shepherd, I'll Not Want" and "What a Friend We Have
In Jesus," accompanied by organist David
FRIES.
Special music
"Somebody's Hero" was played at the conclusion of the service.
The grand_sons of Iris served as pallbearers and honourary pallbearers,
and her granddaughters carried floral tributes. Interment was
in Markdale Cemetery.
Memorial donations were directed to the Centre Grey Hospital
Health Services Foundation - Building Fund and the charity of
choice. Following the service the Friends and relatives joined
the family for refreshments and fellowship in Annesley United
Church Fellowship Hall.

Born in London on February 2, 1920. Bill owned and operated Roberton's
Furnishing for many years. In retirement, Bill was a valued member
of the H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home staff. In World War 2, Bill served
overseas in England, Scotland, France, Italy, Sicily and North
Africa from February 1940-1945 in the Royal Canadian Regiment.
He was a member of the Aylmer Baptist Church, Col. Talbot Br.#81
of the Royal Canadian Legion, the R.C.R. Assoc. and a former
member of the Aylmer Cemetery Board and the Aylmer Optimist Club.
In 1964 he travelled to Italy as an ambassador for the R.C.R.
In 1994 he travelled on behalf of the Dept. of Veteran Affairs
representing the Royal Canadian Regiments' pilgrimage celebrating
the 50 year anniversary of the battle of Sicily and Italy. In
1994 Bill was Aylmer Senior Citizen of the Year and Aylmer Rotarian
Citizen of the year and in 2003 he received the Queen's Jubilee
Medal. Friends may call at the H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer

in his grandchildren and will be greatly missed. A private graveside
service was held on Thursday, August 18, 2005. A public memorial
service will be announced at a later date. Flowers gratefully
declined, with remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society, the
Heart and Stroke Foundation, or a charity of choice. Williams

Retired World War 2 Captain, George enlisted in the Toronto Scottish
Regiment (M.G.) September 6, 1939 as a Private, A/Mgn and served
in the army overseas from 1939-1946.
George was a long time resident of Toronto and a former Banker,
Stock Broker, Intelligence Officer, Senior Special Investigator
and Consultant.
He was educated in Nova Scotia, Owen Sound, Military College
and Oxford University, England as well as the University of Toronto
- Accounting.
George enjoyed a full life, and in his younger days was well
known in the sporting fraternity and the Bay Street district.
He was married to his best friend and companion, Jean B. Reid,
for over 50 years whom predeceased him. He had many Friends across
Canada and
in Eastern U.S.A. and especially in their winter homes
at Crescent Beach area. Florida and Victoria, British Columbia,
as well as their summer home at Paudash Lake in Ontario.

made many Friends in his trips abroad. Shabbir was a long-time
member of the Ottawa Cathedral Cricket Club and in retirement
