MacKISON, Rick William
Rick William, of Port Stanley, on Thursday, April 21, 2005 at the Saint Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, peacefully, in his 47th year. Dearly loved son of Carl "Luke" and Catherine "Cathy" (HARPER) MacKISON and dear brother of Jim MacKISON and Wendy BLACK, both of London. Rick was born in London on November 15, 1958. Sadly missed by a number of aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces, and by his special cats Sammy and Hanna. A Memorial service to celebrate Rick's life will be held on Saturday, April 30th at 12: 00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, Saint Thomas. Rick's eyes were donated as a gift of life. Cremation took place in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined with donations to the Saint Thomas-Elgin General Hospital Palliative Care Unit. A special thanks to the wonderful staff in Palliative Care and to Chuck and Joanne VANDER WEL for their loving help and support. A tree will be planted as a living memorial to Rick.

After a lifelong quest for knowledge, C. Maria (MIES) VAN DER WEL of London, Professor Emeritus at Huron College, passed into glory at St. Joseph's Health Centre, London, on Saturday, July 9th, 2005 in her 88th year. She is survived by her brothers Thies VAN DER WEL of Holland, John (Atie) VANDERWEL of Brampton, Leo (Nellie) VANDERWEL of Burnaby British Columbia, Charles VANDERWEL of London, C. Frank (Corry) VANDERWEL of London; and her sisters Tineke GOODHAND of the United Kingdom Helen (Tony) BARTON of the U.S.A., and Trudy (Bert) VAN DER HOEK of London. Also survived by many nieces and nephews in Canada, U.S.A., United Kingdom and Holland. Predeceased by her brothers Willem (1955) and Douwe (1953). Friends will be received by the family from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London. Passed away suddenly at Hamilton Health Sciences Center on June 16, 2005, in his 80th year. Lovingly remembered by his wife Mary, his children Robert (Julia NAIRNE,) Hilary (Cullen WELBOURN,) Ian (Dara OTWELL) and Virginia (Robert WISEMAN,) his grandchildren Breton, Wheaton, Carly, Ian, Columbia and Redmond and his sister Margot BETHUNE and brother Anthony ROY. Rob served in the Fleet Air Arm, Royal Navy during the war and joined the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders of Canada (Princess Louise's) upon his return. He transferred to the Toronto Scottish Regiment and over the years served as President of the Royal Canadian Military Institute, President of the Toronto Historical Board, Chair of the Warrior's Day Parade Council and Honorary Colonel of the Argylls. He will be remembered by his Friends and colleagues of the Royal Canadian Yacht Club, The Gordian Club, the Royal Naval Association and the Naval Club of Toronto. An executive in the investment and insurance community and long time resident of North Toronto he moved to the Veterans' Wing of Sunnybrook Hospital following a stroke in 2002. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sunnybrook Hospital Veterans' Comfort Fund or the Canadian Cancer Society. Memorial service arrangements will be announced.

She▼ was the great-grandmother of Josh and Alexander. She will be sadly missed by sister Lorna GRIFFITHS (Wilf▲▼) of Toronto, and brother Roy ROLLINSON (Eleanor) of Owen Sound. She was predeceased by sister Thelma McKIE, and son-in-law Bill BROADWORTH.
Friends called at the May Funeral Home, Markdale, Friday evening, November 25. Reverend Mark WAUGH officiated at a funeral service held at Annesley United Church, Markdale, Saturday, November 26 at 2: 30 p.m.
A eulogy and remembrances were shared by grandchildren Danna, Douglas and Eric. Music included the congregational hymns "The Lord's My Shepherd, I'll Not Want" and "What a Friend We Have In Jesus," accompanied by organist David FRIES. Special music "Somebody's Hero" was played at the conclusion of the service.
The grand_sons of Iris served as pallbearers and honourary pallbearers, and her granddaughters carried floral tributes. Interment was in Markdale Cemetery.
Memorial donations were directed to the Centre Grey Hospital Health Services Foundation - Building Fund and the charity of choice. Following the service the Friends and relatives joined the family for refreshments and fellowship in Annesley United Church Fellowship Hall.

It is with great sadness that his family announces Don GRAHAM, in his 87th year, peacefully entered into his eternal rest on Thursday January 6th, 2005 at the Brantford General Hospital. Don was the beloved husband of Ruth (née FACEY) for 57 years and loving father of Linda McGUFFIN (David,) Windsor, Barbara WOOD (Philip), Dundas, Jean FARHOOD (Wayne), Waterloo, Eleanor GRAHAM (Henry VOGELSANG), London, Peter (Veryan), England, Stanley (Tracy), Delhi, and John (Luraine), Ottawa. He was always interested in the lives of his 16 grandchildren, Scott (Tracy), Aimee and Sarah McGUFFIN, Eric (Melissa) and Andrew WOOD, David (Cheryl) and Stephen FARHOOD, Jonathan, Tatiana, David and Imogen GRAHAM, Nicole, Lesley and Duncan GRAHAM, Ian and Katherine GRAHAM. He had one great-grandchild Ethan FARHOOD. Don has two surviving sisters, Dorothy ABRAHAM (Bill) of Petrolia and Isobel HUGHES of Ilderton. He was predeceased by his parents Peter L. and Grace, his brothers George and Stanley and sisters Gladys WELCH and Marjorie PETRIE. He will also be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and Friends.
Don was the Agricultural Representative in Brant County from 1950 - 1983 and since retirement remained very active in the community, in the Rotary Club, the Probus Club and as a faithful member of Heritage United Church (formerly Colborne Street, Brantford United Church). Marie and Frances HOBBS of Port Colborne. Predeceased by a brother Curly ANDREYCHUK and by a sister Helen TYSSEN. Adored and loved grandpa of Stephanie, Emily, Melanie, Karly, Brody and Meagan. He has lived the past 28 years in the Talbotville and Saint Thomas area and formerly of Mt. Brydges. Bill worked for the Ford Motor Company of Canada where he was a metal finisher. Beloved husband of Eunice (Gavey) CHIPCHASE and dear father to David and wife Margaret and Lynda SHELLY and husband John all of Aylmer. Loving grandfather to Jonni-Lyn VANDEURSEN and husband Michael, Jackie WELCH and husband Gary, Christine SPICER and husband Troy and Michael CHIPCHASE and great grandfather to Morgan, Cole and Sydney. Brother to Dorothy DENOMY and husband Frank. Born in London on February 2, 1920. Bill owned and operated Roberton's Furnishing for many years. In retirement, Bill was a valued member of the H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home staff. In World War 2, Bill served overseas in England, Scotland, France, Italy, Sicily and North Africa from February 1940-1945 in the Royal Canadian Regiment. He was a member of the Aylmer Baptist Church, Col. Talbot Br.#81 of the Royal Canadian Legion, the R.C.R. Assoc. and a former member of the Aylmer Cemetery Board and the Aylmer Optimist Club. In 1964 he travelled to Italy as an ambassador for the R.C.R. In 1994 he travelled on behalf of the Dept. of Veteran Affairs representing the Royal Canadian Regiments' pilgrimage celebrating the 50 year anniversary of the battle of Sicily and Italy. In 1994 Bill was Aylmer Senior Citizen of the Year and Aylmer Rotarian Citizen of the year and in 2003 he received the Queen's Jubilee Medal. Friends may call at the H.A. Ed was born in Watford, Ontario on February 24, 1924, the son of the late Sidney and Elsie (HUMPHRIES) WELCH. He was raised in Strathroy and lived there until he moved to California in 1964. During the last 12 years, Ed divided his time between Santa Barbara and Port Stanley. He took great pride in his grandchildren and will be greatly missed. Buck was born in McKay's Corners, Harwich Township 90 years ago, son of the late James HOLMES and Nina WELCH. His wife the former Nellie MAHER died January 2, 2005. He is survived by a brother Murray in Toronto, several nieces and nephews, sister-in-law Mary GOSSO of London. Buck was predeceased by his brother Uriel in 1995. Friends will be received by the family one hour prior to the Funeral Service being conducted in the chapel of the J.L. Ford Funeral Home, Blenheim on Monday at 2: 00 pm with Lay Pastoral Minister Sheryle STEADMAN officiating. Interment in Blenheim Evergreen Cemetery on the anniversary of his wife's death. Much loved grandfather of Katy, Matthew, and Shelby CHAMPION and dear brother of George WELCH of Melbourne, Douglas and his wife Marie▲ WELCH of Strathroy. Predeceased by 3 brothers, Sidney, Ted, and Sterling. Sadly missed by a number of nieces and nephews. Ed was born in Watford, Ontario on February 24, 1924, the son of the late Sidney and Elsie (HUMPHRIES) WELCH. He was raised in Strathroy and lived there until he moved to California in 1964. During the last 12 years, Ed divided his time between Santa Barbara and Port Stanley. He took great pride in his grandchildren and will be greatly missed. A private graveside service was held on Thursday, August 18, 2005. A public memorial service will be announced at a later date. Flowers gratefully declined, with remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or a charity of choice. Retired World War 2 Captain, George enlisted in the Toronto Scottish Regiment (M.G.) September 6, 1939 as a Private, A/Mgn and served in the army overseas from 1939-1946.
George was a long time resident of Toronto and a former Banker, Stock Broker, Intelligence Officer, Senior Special Investigator and Consultant.
He was educated in Nova Scotia, Owen Sound, Military College and Oxford University, England as well as the University of Toronto - Accounting.
George enjoyed a full life, and in his younger days was well known in the sporting fraternity and the Bay Street district. He was married to his best friend and companion, Jean B. Reid, for over 50 years whom predeceased him. He had many Friends across Canada and in Eastern U.S.A. and especially in their winter homes at Crescent Beach area. Florida and Victoria, British Columbia, as well as their summer home at Paudash Lake in Ontario.
He is survived by his sister, Jean (Mrs. M.J.) WATERHOUSE, and nephew Bill WATERHOUSE, Huntsville▼ and family Julie, Tracy and Jeremy, niece Susan (husband Bill) MILLER, Mississauga,▼ and nephew Tom WELCH (wife Judy▼) and sons Bradley and Brian, Edmonton.

Beloved grandfather of Stephanie BRULÉ, Pierce, Travis and Darcy UJJAINWALLA. Born in Ratlam, India, Shabbir earned a degree from the Engineering College of Poona and obtained his M.A.Sc. from the University of Toronto (1950). In 1959, Shabbir left H.G. Acres in Niagara Falls to join the federal government. During his career at Environment Canada and Canadian International Development Agency, Shabbir made many Friends in his trips abroad. Shabbir was a long-time member of the Ottawa Cathedral Cricket Club and in retirement was an enthusiastic golfer at Carleton Golf and Yacht Club. Special thanks to Dr. Roanne SEGAL for years of treatment and encouragement, the nurses who became Friends of 'M.
