Passed away peacefully in her 90th year, early December 24th,
2005. Touched by Alzheimer's disease, she thrived the last ten
years under the kindness of many individuals at Lincoln Place
Nursing Home. The youngest of seven brothers and sisters, her
life spanned the great events of the 20th century. A happy woman
living in challenging times who truly was able to appreciate
the beauty of life. All remember her striking blue eyes and the
mischief of her quick and easy smile. She was a kind and generous
person who loved to travel. Born during the First World War,
the Depression drew her elder siblings first to Aruba, then to
Canada, and the States. War again culminated in her being the
only survivor of her family at Auschwicz. The rise of communism
then directed her future to Canada, an adventure shared by many
of her Hungarian contempories. Predeceased by her two husbands,
Alexander FRIED, M.D. and Sandor
