loss of a dear husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of 63 years, Marguerite,
who tenderly and lovingly cared for him, and by his sons, Paul
and Stephen. Predeceased by his son Brian. Survived by his sister
Winnifred URCH of St. George and predeceased by his brother William
and sister Margaret. As a man of great spiritual values and principles
he bore his lengthy illness with dignity and a sense of humour.
He was well known and respected in the Printing industry in Toronto
for over 65 years. The family wishes to express sincere thanks

a daughter of the Manse in Highgate (Essex County) daughter of

She graduated from Mitchell Public
School in 1923, London Central C.I. 1928 and University of Western
Ontario in 1931 where she excelled at tennis and basketball.
A member of U.W.O. Athletic "W" Club, Lillian faithfully followed
Western's varsity sports all of her life. Lillian taught highschool
in Brantford and London prior to marring Dr. William S.
JOHNSTON
in 1938. After the birth of Penny and Richard, her husband served
overseas with the R.C.A.M.C. in Bassingstoke, England for four
years during World War 2.
Lillian was President of the London Y.M./Y.W.C.A. in 1960 and
was very active at First St. Andrew's United Church where she
taught Sunday School and was a member of United Church Women
for over 50 years. For Lillian, First St. Andrew's was her second
home. Her favourite retreat was the shores of Lake Huron at Kincardine
where her father was a Methodist Minister 1916-1919 and where
she first went to school in 1915 at Kincardine Public School.
