Beloved husband of 51 years to his dear wife and best friend Marie HORVATH (née HOELZLI.) Dear father of Rose HORVATH and her companion Leon VANHAVERBEKE of Tillsonburg; Dianne (Rick) TROTTIER of Petrolia. Retired National Research Council of Canada. Passed away peacefully at the Civic Hospital on January 5, 2005. Daughter of the late Claude TIENNET and Rose PROULX. Wife of the late Charles H. HINCHEY. Predeceased by her sister Jeanne, her sister-in-law Eva (Albert) and her brothers-in-law Bert (Irene), George (Lucienne), Leo (Paulette), Henri and Romeo. Sadly missed by her niece Margo (Jean TROTTIER,) her grandnieces and grandnephews Diane, Lucie, Michel and Jean Pierre (Ailsa), and by her very good Friends Margaret DUNLOP (Ken GIBSON) and their children Elizabeth, Rebecca, Craig and Mark, Lucie LAPOINTE (Clive WILLIS) and her daughter Lauren, and Jean SHEEHY. Also missed by a number of great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews and many Friends. Madeleine had a wonderful love for life. As a friend, "Grandma", and "Ma Tante", she brought her infectious optimism and happiness to all who were close to her. Madeleine was born in Toronto in 1922 but resided in Hull and Ottawa most of her life. She had a very successful career at the National Research Council of Canada, retiring as the Secretary General to Council in 1984. She was the first woman at the Council to hold a number of senior management positions including chairing the selection committee for Canada's first slate of astronauts. Her passion for the Council and its work was well known. Thank you to all the staff at the Civic Hospital who took such good care of her. She leaves a great hole in our lives. McCARROLL, Sister Louise
Passed away in the peace of the Lord and the hope of Resurrection at the Hamilton Precious Blood Monastery on Wednesday, September 28th, 2005, in the 85th year of her life and the 66th year of religious profession of Vows. She is predeceased by her parents Dr. Frank Leo McCARROLL and Eva TROTTIER, her sister Mary BARRETT and brothers Frank, John, Reverend Patrick, Raymond, Michael, and Andre. Sister is survived by her brothers Edward and James and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews who mourn her passing. Her dedication and love of Jesus as she so cheerfully lived her mission of prayer was a great inspiration to us all. She was deeply loved by her Community Sisters and will be missed by so many relatives and Friends. In 1937, Sister Louise entered the Monastery of the Precious Blood in Peterborough, Ontario. She took her Vows in 1939. She has been stationed in various houses of our Congregation. She was always a very caring person and was at her best when she could be of help in any way. She loved to do art work and making cards was one of her specialties. Sister worked for many years in our Secretary office, in the Altar Bread department and also as Superior of the Monastery in Regina. Visitation will be held at the Monastery, 154 Northcliffe Ave., Hamilton on Friday, September 30th, 3: 30-5 and 7-9 p.m. There will be a gathering for Prayer at 7: 30 p.m. The Mass of the Resurrection will be offered by Bishop Gerard Paul BERGIE at the Monastery on Saturday, October 1st at 11: 00 a.m. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Burlington.

William WARBURTON, peacefully, on July 24, 2005, at Exeter Villa, in his 83rd year. Lovingly remembered by his children William WARBURTON, Susan and Ben HOOGENBOOM and Mary and Martyn VAN ESSEN, grandchildren Ben and Jenna, Kara, Joel, Ian, and Wynn, Kirsten, Jerry, Samantha and Brandon and sisters and brother-in-law Mollie REESOR, Barbara OCKENDEN, Dorothy and Harry TROUGHTON, and Norma and Franklin SPARROW. Bill was predeceased by his first wife and the children's mother Dorothy (LEACH/LEECH/LEITCH) WARBURTON (1980,) second wife Dorothy (FOLLIOTT) WARBURTON (1995,) by parents William and Olive (WHITEHEAD) WARBURTON and by brothers-in-law Clayton REESOR and William OCKENDEN.
Bill was a member of the Canadian Armed Forces (1942-1973), and attained the rank of Warrant Officer. During his thirty years of service as a noncommissioned officer, Bill was awarded the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, the 1939-1945 War Medal, and the Special Service Medal (serving with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization). Bill also served the community with his contributions as People's Warden and Rector's Warden of Trivitt Memorial Anglican Church, Exeter, for many years. He will be remembered for his sense of humour, stories of his many travels, and bear hugs and whisker rubs. Thank you Bill for showing the importance of pride in self, community and country. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 27th at Trivitt Memorial Anglican Church at 2 p.m. with Reverend Bill WARD officiating. Cremation to follow. Age 77, of Trawler Bay Ct. Conway, South Carolina, died Friday, June 17, 2005 at his residence. Mr. McFARLANE was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada a son of the late William John and Barbara Isabel Knox McFARLANE. After graduating from the University of Alberta he moved to Toronto, Ontario for employment as a research chemist, there he met and married Leona "Donnie" TROUSDALE and raised a family. Later he became professor at Humber College and York University. Later in life Mr. McFARLANE became enchanted with the south and brought his golf game to the land of golfers for all to bear witness. After his wife transitioned the neighbors of Myrtle Trace arranged an introduction to a community loved one, Jo VOTEL. After a dating period with a mixture of golfing and bad cooking Mr. McFARLANE proposed to Jo, two great families merged into one. Mr. McFARLANE spent his final years in the company of his Friends of the South and his family. Surviving are his wife: Jo VOTEL- McFARLANE of Conway; two daughters: Amanda LEWIS of Toronto, Ontario and Gillian McFARLANE- INNES of Nashville, Tennessee. and one son Peter McFARLANE of Costa Mesa, California: seven grandchildren; Steven and Leslie LEWIS, Natalie, Andrew, and Mackenzie SOBER, and Alora and Bethany INNES. Mr. McFARLANE also is survived by his Step-Children: Jerome J. VOTEL Jr. of Sterling, Viginia; James E. VOTEL of Miami, Florida and Judith MORTON of Louisville, North Carolina; five Step-Grandchildren: Janelle and Jackle VOTEL and Comfort, Raleigh and Regan MORTON Two brothers John McFARLANE of Edmonton, Canada and David McFARLANE of St. Albert, Alberta, Canada; one Uncle George McFARLANE and several neices and nephews. Departed this life on January 23, 2005, with her family by her side, at the age of 75, taken by an aggressive cancer. Cherished mother of Stephanie JENSEN, Derek SMITH and Scott SMITH; beloved mother-in-law to Cindy SMITH and Jocelyn SMITH; proud grandmother of James JENSEN and Kalyn SMITH; dear sister of Ruth TISDALL, Frank NUTSON and Dorothy REYNOLDS and the late Bill NUTSON, Marjorie HASTIE and Mary TROW. She is survived by her former husband Tony SMITH and many loving nieces and nephews. Terry was born October 3, 1929 in Sault Saint Marie, Ontario, grew up in Toronto and moved to San Francisco in her late twenties. She married Tony in San Francisco and they raised their family in Larkspur, California. She enjoyed tennis, golf and sewing and made many Friends in her communities due to her wonderful sense of humour and her young and fiery spirit. Terry was a lady who was easy to talk to as she was such a good listener and you knew she truly cared. She moved to Petaluma, California in the 1980's to be closer to her daughter Stephanie and was a dedicated supporter of her children and grandchildren. She was dearly loved and will be truly missed. A memorial service will be held on February 12 at 11: 00 a.m. at her Parish of St. James Catholic Church, 125 Sonoma Mt. Parkway, Petaluma, California with a "celebration of life" reception in her honour to follow at the Sheraton Hotel, 745 Baywood Drive, Petaluma. Flowers may be sent to the church or donations can be made to St. James Catholic Church or the American Cancer Society.

She▲ was the beloved wife of George Hunter TROW, the loving mother of Susan TROW and Anne McBRIDE, mother-in-law to Ian McBRIDE and Emmanuel LÉPINE and beloved grandmother to Jennifer, Martin, Brendan and Colin. She will be remembered for her quiet generous nature by her family and Friends and those who knew her for her past work as a volunteer at Bloorview Children's Hospital. Miles Chapel, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Eglinton Avenue East), for a service in the chapel on Friday, October 7th at 11 a.m. with a reception to follow. Francis was the former owner of Tillsonburg Commercial Printers; former owner of Queen's Ladies Wear of Tillsonburg; past president of Tillsonburg Curling Club past president of the Tillsonburg Kinsmen Club; past president of the Tillsonburg Shrine Club; a past member of Tillsonburg Town Council, and a past member of the Tillsonburg Industrial Commission. The family will receive Friends at Ostrander's Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell St. Tillsonburg (842-5221) on Thursday October 27, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Celebration of Life for Francis will be held in Ostrander's Funeral Home Chapel on Friday October 28, 2005 at 11 a.m. Pastor Ike AMORIN of Tillsonburg First Baptist Church officiating. Interment Tillsonburg Cemetery.
