Helen was born in Saint Thomas on February 27, 1933 to the late Edward (1961) and Hazel (TRIGGER) MERRITT (1969.) She had lived all her life in Saint Thomas and was a resident at the Elgin Association for Community Living for many years. Loving sister of Dorothy RICE of Saint Thomas and her late husband Donald RICE (September 3, 2005.) Special aunt to Judy (Ken) CORNFOOT and Deby LIGHTELL (Gary COOPER) and great-aunt to Jon (Jessica) MARKS and Stacy (Jim) BRIGHT and great-great aunt to Erika MARKS. Peacefully, at her residence, Smiths Falls, on Thursday, June 23, 2005, Shirley (RITCHIE) DODD, in her 82nd year. Wife of the late Ken A. DODD. Loved mother of Lynda (the late Gerry) HARDWICK and Jim (Barb) DODD. Predeceased by her daughter Lori DODD. Sadly missed by her grandchildren Jason (Tracy) HARDWICK and Kenny and Chris DODD, and great-grandchildren Codie, Jake and Chelsea HARDWICK. Loved sister of Jacque RITCHIE. Fondly remembered by Helen TRIMM, and her nieces, nephews, family and many good Friends. McGUIGAN, Nicholas Wilmot
Passed away peacefully on Friday, October 28, 2005 in Toronto. Born in Cedar Springs 84 years ago, son of the late Finlay McGUIGAN and Fern CLAUS. Nick will be sadly missed by his beloved wife the former Eileen MANNERING. Dear father of Gillian (Gil) ADAMSON and Randy WOOD, Hugh and Nancy McGUIGAN, Sheila McGUIGAN and Don TRIMM. Proud grandfather of six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren all of Toronto, brother of Peter and Shirley McGUIGAN of Blenheim. Nick was a fifty year jewel member of the Kent Masonic Lodge and was a former Zone and District Commander for the Canadian Legion. He was a World War 2 Veteran, serving with distinction with the 12th Field Regiment, 43rd Battery. He had a long career with the City of Toronto where he became the City's first Noise Control Co-ordinator. Resting at the J.L. Ford Funeral Home in Blenheim for visitation on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and where a Legion Memorial Service will be held at 7: 00 p.m. and a Masonic Memorial Service at 8: 00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 11: 00 a.m. with Padre Bill TERRIS, Legion Chaplain officiating. Interment in Craford Cemetery. Many thanks to the wonderful staff at Sunnybrook, especially the K wing. Donations to the Sunnybrook and Women's College Health Sciences Centre, The Kidney or Heart and Stroke Foundations appreciated.
