Mrs. Anna Hain a resident of Wallaceburg passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2005 at C.K.H.A. "Sydenham Campus", in Wallaceburg, at the age of 86. Anna was born in Mohacich, Hungary and was a daughter of the late Peter and Veronica (SCHWARTZKOPF) STILLER. She had resided in the Wallaceburg area for the past 47 years. She was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Church in Wallaceburg. Beloved wife of Paul HAIN and the late Bela TREBICS (1978.) Dear mother and mother-in-law of Bela "Bill" and Debra TREBICS of Wallaceburg, Jeno TREBICS of Wallaceburg and Theresa and Gusztav OMLOSI of Hungary. Dear step-mother of: Inge MYERS, Edith SCHOPF, Norbert HAIN, Veronica HALL, Joe TURBUCZ Jr., Irene RUSSELL and Liz KITZLER. Sadly missed by 15 grandchildren, many step grandchildren and many great grandchildren. The late Anna HAIN rested at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home, 639 Elgin Street, Wallaceburg until Friday, May 6, 2005 when the funeral mass was held from Our Lady Help of Christians Church at 10: 30 a.m. with Fr. Greg BONIN, Celebrant. Mrs. Fran FRALEIGH presided at the organ. The church choir sang the mass. The pall was placed on the casket by her two sons. Died peacefully with his family around him at Royal Gardens, Tuesday, March 1st. Born in London, England, July 30, 1920. Survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Florence (TREBILCOCK;) his children Dr. Paul CRAGG (Leigh,) Elizabeth LASENBY (Roger,) and his loving grandchildren Sarah, Scott, Ted, Jason, Steven and Andy, plus great-grandchildren Osha and Aislin. Although Alzheimer's disease ravaged Audrey Grace LONEY's short-term memory in the last months of her life, she could still tell wonderfully vivid stories of years gone past.
She wouldn't remember day-to-day visits in her nursing home, close friend Jan TREBILCOCK says, but could talk at length about exotic trips overseas and the time she rode side-saddle with Lady Eaton, the philanthropist and department store heiress. A decade ago, she went on a solo trip to China, determined to see the Yangtze River before the Three Gorges Dam project ruined it.
"If only I'd taped her stories," Ms. TREBILCOCK laments.
Ms. LONEY, who died this spring at the age of 79, had outlived her husband, George, and, with no living relatives, came to be like a part of Ms. TREBILCOCK's family.
She had studied art in Toronto in her younger years and subsequently won a scholarship to study at the Pratt Institute's School of Art and Design in New York. Around the same time, in the mid-fifties, she and her husband got married and lived for a time on Wellesley Street in Toronto. They later moved to Elora and started an equestrian centre there.
But Ms. LONEY had two mastectomies and, while she was recovering from the second, her favourite horse, an aging, blind animal named Fawn, became ill.
"They put it down while she was in the hospital and it broke her heart," Ms. TREBILCOCK says.
Other deaths followed -- first her mother's and then her husband's. She soon left the Elora property and opened a fine-art gallery in the town of Durham, about two hours northwest of Toronto. That was where she met Ms. TREBILCOCK, an artist.
Ms. LONEY ran the Jade Tree Gallery until her faculties faded in the late nineties. She died on April 19.

Mary was born in Saint Thomas on October 4, 1951. She is a graduate of St. Joseph's High School, the University of Western Ontario and Althouse Teachers College. Predeceased by his wife Betsy, he will be missed by their sons Matthew, Rowland and Dunc McLaren and by their families and his many Friends. During World War 2, Ticker was a Flight Lieutenant with the Royal Air Force and flew on the Pathfinder Force earning the Distinguished Flying Cross for his service. Following the war, he emigrated to Canada and met and married Betsy TREES and they lived in Thornhill. In 1975, he retired from Trans-Canada Pipelines and they moved to Port Sandfield.
A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2005 from 1: 00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the Brooklea Golf Club in Midland, located on Highway 93 south of Midland and south of Highway 12. Husband▼ of Frances CHAMBERS (née NOBLE,) father of Brian Fergus of Ottawa and Karen Lorraine (Gaetan POIRIER) of Ladysmith, Quebec. Grandfather of Andrew Fergus, Braeden Jean-Maurice and Liam Patrick. Survived by 3 brothers Spencer (Wendy) of Calgary, Donald (Sue) of Sylacauga, Alabama and Howard (Diane) of Manitoulin Island. Predeceased by brother William. Survived by sister-in-law Mary (Jim GIBBONS) of Fergus, Ontario. Also survived by aunt Anna TREFFRY of Tillsonburg, Ontario, and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.
Born in South Norwich, Township, Oxford County, Ontario, he is a graduate of the University of Western, Ontario, the London School of Economics, and the University of Toronto where he received his doctorate in economics. He had a long and distinguish career in numerous departments of the Government of Canada including Northern Development, Export Development Corporation, Canadian International Development Agency and Industry, Trade and Commerce, where he was Assistant Deputy Minister. He went on to be Deputy Secretary at the Ministry of State for Economic Development. During a sabbatical from the government he became a professor of Business Policy and Public Administration at Queens University in Kingston. When he returned to the government he served as a senior faculty member at the Executive Development Centre. Upon his retirement he spent six years in Africa where he served as an economic consultant to the government of Botswana. Grandfather of Andrew Fergus, Braeden Jean-Maurice and Liam Patrick. Survived by 3 brothers Spencer (Wendy) of Calgary, Donald (Sue) of Sylacauga, Alabama and Howard (Diane) of Manitoulin Island. Predeceased by brother William. Survived by sister-in-law Mary (Jim GIBBONS) of Fergus, Ontario. Also survived by aunt Anna TREFFRY of Tillsonburg, Ontario, and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. Born in South Norwich, Township, Oxford County, Ontario, he is a graduate of the University of Western, Ontario, the London School of Economics, and the University of Toronto where he received his doctorate in economics. He had a long and distinguish career in numerous departments of the Government of Canada including Northern Development, Export Development Corporation, Canadian International Development Agency and Industry, Trade and Commerce, where he was Assistant Deputy Minister. He went on to be Deputy Secretary at the Ministry of State for Economic Development. During a sabbatical from the government he became a professor of Business Policy and Public Administration at Queens University in Kingston. When he returned to the government he served as a senior faculty member at the Executive Development Centre. Upon his retirement he spent six years in Africa where he served as an economic consultant to the government of Botswana.
