Passed away on December 21st as a result of an unfortunate accident. She was predeceased by her parents Dr. and Mrs. O.O. LYONS and siblings Ormond, Joan, Nancy Lou, and Virginia. Jean will be lovingly remembered by a host of Friends, especially Susan and Robert LIM, Annette and Michael ALTMAN, May and Chang LIM, and Angela BARBOUR and her family. Jean is survived and much missed by cousins Myrleen ANDERSON, Sinclair and Rachael HEALY; sister-in-law Hazel LYONS, nieces Anne SEAL, Barbara HUDSON, Diana SPECHT, and nephew Richard LYONS in California; brother-in-law Richard BROADBENT and niece Lucy BROADBENT in New Zealand. She will be especially and lovingly remembered by her many students, past and present.
Jean LYONS was born in 1921 in Vancouver, grew up in Powell River and received her A.T.C.M., L.R.S.M. in Toronto, where she studied with Healey WILLAN, Sir Ernest MacMILLAN and Alberto GUERRERO. Miss LYONS established the Jean Lyons School of Music in Vancouver in 1963, which now has a faculty of 14 teachers and 300 students. Her graduate students have achieved success in Canada and abroad, including Alexina Louie, a foremost Canadian composer, who was the composer-in-residence at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa. Miss LYONS has published eight books on Rudiments, Harmony, History and Analysis of Music. Her impressive biography appears in the International Who's Who in Music.

Loving mother of Audrey KVEDARAS and her husband Paul SYME, Paul KVEDARAS, and Sandra WILCOX and her husband David. Adored grandmother of Jeffrey and Matthew WILCOX and Clara SYME. Alice was born November 26, 1927 in Suvalkija, Lithuania, as the daughter of the SPEDER family. She grew up in Lithuania and moved to Canada where she became a nurse in 1956 and married Vytautas KVEDARAS a short time after. Over the years she volunteered at the Kingsway Lambton United Church and many other charities. Alice spent over 30 years on Addison Beach on beautiful Georgian Bay. She loved to walk in parks and always saw the beauty of the natural surroundings. She always enjoyed the companionship of dogs. A Memorial Service will be held at Park Lawn Cemetery, Mausoleum Chapel at 2845 Bloor St. W., Etobicoke, on Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at 2 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to Turner and Porter Butler Chapel (416) 231-2283. Margaret Patricia AITKEN was born in Winnipeg in 1942. Saturday, October 8, 2005, in the company of her much-loved partner Derek WILKINSON, a car accident took her life. She leaves behind her cherished daughter Sheila, son-in-law Andrew, new and greatly adored grand_son Gavin Arman Aitken MORROW of Toronto, her mother Agnes▼ 'Muz' SPEECHLY of Mississauga, and her sister Cathy, brother-in-law Doug, niece Kristin, and nephew Jeff ROBERGE, of Milton. Whether receiving her Honours B.A. and M.A., further studying Rhetoric in graduate school, or teaching English at high school or university, education and language skills were a vital part of her life. At times she worked at the CTV, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, the Canadian Mental Health Association, and the Office of the Mayor of Greater Sudbury. At the time of her death, she was the proprietor of Northern Writing Services, consulting for a variety of private and public organizations. Pat was a devoted member of the Sudbury community, happily supporting local businesses, donating to many charities and causes, and participating on boards and committees. She was always ready to share a kind word or provide help and understanding for those in need. Pat led a rich and textured life. She was a great lover of the outdoors as well as a seasoned traveler, a fabulous cook who loved to entertain, a devotee of the arts, and a dedicated churchgoer at St. Andrew's United where she sang Alto in the choir. She was an intellectual, a dog lover, a blues-and-jazz aficionada, and a true Toronto Blue Jays fan. Above all, Pat cherished, and was in turn loved by, her vast network of Friends and family. She will be greatly missed. (Member of St. Paul's United Church, Tillsonburg; dedicated former accountant and later Personel Manager for Livingston's Industriesl, Tillsonburg and member of the 1952 Livies Gold Medal Basketball Olympic Team. Beloved husband of Irma V. (COYLE) (SHULTZ) COULTHARD. Predeceasd by his first wife June Frances (BARNES) COULTHARD (May 13, 1985). Passed away Saturday, June 4, 2005, in Ottawa, in her 80th year. Betty was born in Australia and moved to North Bay in 1968 when she married Frank SPEERS. She was a well-known member of the Arts Community in North Bay and across Ontario. At Betty's request there will be no visitation. Cremation will take place and her ashes will be scattered in Trout Lake, North Bay, at a later date.

DOYLE, Mary Elizabeth, (formerly SPEERS, née STEVENS)
Born August 28, 1911. Died July 24, 2005. Mary followed her natural inclination to serve her community starting as a teenager she worked summers in The Toronto school grounds as a children's counselor. She went on to graduate in Social Work from the University of Toronto. Her lifelong commitment was to the Children's Aid where she toiled until her retirement. Mary became the head of the Adoption Department (central branch) and then she took the job as Director of the east branch, at their brand new Scarborough quarters. She made a multitude of close and lasting relationships with her fellow 'C.A.S.' workers, many of whom she shared her latter years with at Christie Gardens.
Loving mother to M.J. SPEERS of Toronto. Stepmother/grandmother to Anna Beth DOYLE, Joel HILLEL, Mark and Pamela SHAPIRO of Montreal, and to Michael DOYLE (deceased,) and his Winnipeg family Marcelle, Pierre, Suzanne DOYLE, Terry OTCHENASH, Monique DOYLE, Randy, Michael and Trevor WALLD.
