Alexandra, Emma, Jeffrey, Brandon and Stephanie. A holocaust
survivor, Erwin helped European Jews move through Europe, crossing
dangerous borders to reach the future state of Israel. This work
almost cost him his life. He was later interned in Cypress and
eventually fought in 2 wars in Israel. A graveside burial on
Wednesday, April 6 at 1: 30 p.m. at Pardes Shalom Cemetery.

hearts of many as he passed through their lives in the capacity
of gardener, friend, mentor, companion, uncle, husband, and father.
Died peacefully on Friday, March 11th, 2005 at Sunnybrook and
Women's College Health Science Centre, in his 88th year. He was
the beloved husband of Maria for over 62 years. Cherished and

Les was a dedicated and faithful member of Central United Church,
Weston for over 50 years. He enjoyed an active life in Masonry:
Master of Coronation Lodge Ancient, Free and Accepted Masons
677, 1964; Past Grand Steward of the Grand Lodge of Canada, Province
of Ontario, 1977; Scottish Rite Mason 32nd Degree; member of
Rameses Shriners, Drum Corps and Leaside Shrine Club. A retired
Captain of the Toronto Fire Department, Les enjoyed 22 years
of travel, winters in Florida, sports and a full and active life.
He was also an avid curling member of the Weston Golf and Country
Club. The family wishes to thank many Friends for their support
during Les' illness, as well as Dr. J.
ROGERSON and the entire
staff at the William Osler Palliative Care Unit. Friends will
be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Road (north
of Lawrence Avenue) Weston on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-4
and 7-9 p.m. Masonic Service Wednesday, August 10, 2005 at 7: 30
p.m. The funeral service will take place at Central United Church,
1 King Street, Weston on Thursday, August 11 at 11: 00 a.m. Following
the interment at Glendale Memorial Gardens a reception will be
held at Central United Church. If desired, memorial donations
to the Rameses Shrine Childrens Hospital Fund (3100 Keele Street,
