Loved grandfather of Kassandra and Bailey SMITH, Nathanm, Robert and Dale DAVIE, Cayden DAVIE and Alexandria SILVERTHORN. He lived in Saint Thomas most of his life and he was a truck driver. SILVERTHORNE, Donald Murray (1920-2005)
Donald Murray SILVERTHORNE of Calgary passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 20, 2005 at the age of 84 years. Donald was born on July 24, 1920 in Brantford, Ontario. He served overseas in World War 2 from 1941 to 1946 with the 42nd Battery and Queen's Own Rifle Infantry. He returned from Holland in 1946 with his Dutch wife Margaret, with whom he enjoyed thirty-five years of marriage in and around the Waterford and London, Ontario areas.
Donald is survived by his children, Maria (Ken) STAUFFER of Sundre, Alberta, Tom SILVERTHORNE of Newmarket, Ontario and Patricia (George) CLAEREN of Calgary. Granddad was especially proud of his grandchildren, Christa and Gregory SILVERTHORNE and Michael and Josie CLAEREN; and his sister Jeanne E. LITTOOY of Ajax, Ontario. Donald was predeceased by his wife Margaret; and his brothers, Roy and James SILVERTHORNE. The family would like to thank the members and staff at the Colonel Belcher Day Program for their kindness and Friendship. We would also like to thank the nurses at the Carewest Glenmore Park Lodge for their care and compassion, along with the nursing staff at the Rockyview General Hospital, including Dr. D. O'Connor.

Peacefully surrounded by his family at the Hardy Terrace Nursing Home Brantford, on Wednesday, January 5, 2005, in his 80th year beloved husband of Theresa; loving father of Hélène JACKMAN (Elio SILVESTRI), Beverly BRISTOWE (Larry), Leslie ION (Ed ACKWORTH), Karen BLACKMORE and the late Blair LOVELL (1978;) cherished "Pop" of Jolle DAVIDSON (Matthew), Tom Blair ION, Tara, Justin and Kyle BRISTOWE, Christopher BLACKMORE. Earl is survived by his sister Margaret MOORE (Les;) predeceased by his parents Lola HALL, J. Earl and Estella JACKMAN and by his brothers Robert and Donald JACKMAN and nephew David MOORE. He will be fondly remembered by the members of his extended family and Friends. He was known as the "legend" of the Dufferin Tennis Club and he was very proud of his time served with the Royal Canadian Air Force during the Second World War. Friends will be received at the Hill and Robinson Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 30 Nelson Street, Brantford 519-752-2543 on Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Saturday at 1 p.m. Cremation to follow. Donations may be made in Earl's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of your choice.

Beloved wife of Arthur Attilio BERTI, new resident of Mindemoya, and formerly of Hillsdale and Orr Lake. June was born on June 14, 1931 in Toronto, daughter of William and Irene GOODE. Loving▼ mother and deeply missed by daughter Linda WUNDERLICH of Eady, (late husband Michael,) daughter Carol JAMIESON of Lake Manitou (partner Dave HENDERSON,) son Ronald of Tehkummah (wife Joahnna,) and son Terry SILVIO of Tehkummah. Forever remembered and cherished by grandchildren Nicole (partner Jamie COWARD,) Melanie (partner Bruce NAOKWEGIJIG), Lucus, Sabrina, Dylan, Beckett and Emma, and by great-grandchildren Lauren, Kharesa, Nekoma and Naomi. GIRARDI, Virginia (née ROS)
Peacefully at home, in her sleep just before 10 a.m. Friday, August 19, 2005. In her 100th year, "Gina" was born October 25, 1905, in Sacile, Friuli, Italy. She was the last surviving child of four sons and five daughters born to Davide and Giuseppina ROS. One brother died fighting during the Great War; a sister died of Spanish Flu; a brother and a sister died in an epidemic and another sister died of a heart condition. When her mother died, Virginia, 11, moved in with her Aunt Pina. Gina married her true love Luigi GIRARDI, a bricklayer, but was widowed at a young age after his death on April 6, 1939. As a child during the First World War, she was slapped by an occupying Austrian soldier for not listening to him. As a young widow during the Second World War, she survived the deprivations and heartache to raise two young children. She arrived in Canada in 1961, following in the steps of her daughter, the late Silvana (the late Silvio LAMBERTI,) and son Virginio (Maria.) She is also survived by four grandchildren, Eddie and Rob (Siobhan MOORE) Lamberti, and Claudio and Alida (Mark GREGORY.) She became a Canadian citizen in 1975. She danced and made merry at her 95th birthday celebration. Virginia had a passion for life, having taken numerous trips to Italy, Las Vegas, Florida and points in-between. All who knew her were smitten by her vitality and exuberant personality. She was overjoyed as she became "Bisnonna" (great grandmom) three times. Her spirit never waned, even during her last days as her body tired. As her favourite chair now remains empty, "Bisnonna" will also be dearly missed by her great grandchildren Dylan SILVIO and Rose Kathleen LAMBERTI, and Jonathan GREGORY. Visitation Sunday 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Bernardo Funeral Home, 2960 Dufferin St. (2 streets south of Lawrence Ave.) A 9: 30 a.m. Monday Funeral Mass will be held at Saint John Bosco Roman Catholic Church on Rogers Rd., east of Dufferin St. Burial at Prospect Cemetery.
