Suye was born in Niigata prefecture, Japan, on June 13th, 1907,
and passed peacefully at the age of 97 in Momiji Seniors Centre
at Castleview-Wychwood Towers, Toronto, Canada on March 3rd,
2005. She is survived by her children Ruth, Naomi and Jerry.
She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Kent (&
Reiko) with children Sasha, Miya and Bree; Lise (& Gordon) with
children Kasumi, Eli and Julian; Shawna (& Stephen) with children
Madison and John; Gregory; Tia (& Jeff) with children Sasha and
Charles, and Kiki (& Reg). Suye was a pioneer of Soka Gakkai
International Canada. She will be dearly missed by her fellow

son of the late Niels Peter and Marie Sofie

A self employed businessman, Ib had for many years owned and
operated Hansen Leather Manufacturing in Toronto and
in Moncton
as well as Kings Ice, on Mountain Road in Moncton.
He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife Lisbeth,
his daughters Tina of Moncton and Lajla

one son Michael of Ottawa. He is also survived by several nieces
and nephews living in Denmark. Ib was the youngest of four sons
and is the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 29th, 2005 at St.
Jude's Anglican Home where he lived for the last three years.
John was born in Antung, Manchuria and lived in Shanghai until
the Japanese invasion in 1937. He earned a passage to Vancouver
where he worked and studied at night for eight years before establishing
his own structural engineering firm in 1948 which evolved into
Read Jones Christoffersen Ltd., one of the largest structural
engineering firms in Canada. While John
READ was active in the
firm, their projects ranged from Cabot Place in Saint John's, to
the Hyatt House in Toronto, the Vancouver Convention Centre,
and the Empress Hotel in Victoria. John had a life-long commitment
and dedication to the firm until he was well into his 80's. Aside
from his work, John was president of the Vancouver Little Theatre
Association, receiving many awards for directing and acting.
Favourite pastimes also included his 60 year association with
tennis at the Vancouver Lawn Tennis and Badminton Club, golf
and bridge at Point Grey Golf and Country Club, and the Vancouver
Club. John was a kind, loving, caring and compassionate man who
always had a witty sense of humour and warm, affectionate smile.
John had a never ending devotion and love for his family, and
he will live forever in our memories. John is survived by his
wife of 63 years, Peggy, his daughter Gaye (Fraser) and son Kim
(Patricia), his three grandchildren Colin, Nicholas and Jordan,

Columbus Council 1505. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin
Street, Saint Thomas until Friday morning and then to Saint Anne's Church
where Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11: 00
a.m. Interment to follow in Holy Angels' Cemetery. Prayers will
be recited at the funeral home on Thursday at 4: 00 p.m. Visitation
Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the
Saint Thomas-Elgin General Hospital Foundation or charity of choice.

year at Kensington Gardens in Toronto. Beloved husband of the
late Dorothy
SHIZUYE. He will be greatly missed by his son Ron
and his wife Judy and by his grandchildren Drew and his wife
Jennifer, Scott and his wife Ruth, and Sara and her partner Chad
